Due to poor field conditions from yesterdays storms, our Dessie Jacobs Summer Softball program is cancelled today (Thursday, September 3rd). Unfortunately, our season is officially over. The weather was not on our side, even after extending the season by another week. Due to poor field conditions, our Dessie Jacobs Softball program is cancelled this evening (September 1st, 2026). I am hoping we can get our last practice in on Thursday, September 3rd. The weather has not been on our side in the month of August and it looks like that has continued into September. Thursday, September 3rd, will be the last day of programming regardless of a weather cancellation or not. Modified sports teams will be using the fields and we will not have access like we've had this Summer.

Tos Spot won't start until around Halloween, but Zumbini will be kicking off next week and leading into the Tot Spot season. If you are looking to get your kiddo moving and grooving with other babies and toddler, then register for a seat!

Zumbini is a fun program that does require moving and dancing with your kiddo. It also includes original music! come join us on Tuesdays!

There are 2 options to kick start your kids Fall Soccer season with these end of Summer 1-week options. There is a 1-hour option for 4-6 years and a 3-hour option for 7-14 years. This can also help any who are trying to get ready for Modified Soccer try-outs! Session runs Aug. 24 - 28th, so reserve your kid a spot now!

All head coach volunteers will receive a program credit at the end of their season!

The community meeting to collect public input on City of Ithaca, New York parks scheduled from 5:00pm-7:00pm tonight at Stewart Park is happening rain or shine. We'll be meeting at the "Large/Picnic" Pavilion instead of the "Small/Tea" Pavilion. All community members, including families and children, are welcome!

Interested in some more youth Softball this Summer? Our Ithaca Youth Bureau Recreation Division is excited to announce the return of Dessie Jacobs August Softball! Led by ICSD Softball Coach Julie Greco, this program is designed for more practice opportunities for Girls in grades 3-7. Practices will provide opportunities to develop throwing, catching, hitting, baserunning, and pitching! This August Softball program runs every Tuesday and Thursday evening from August 4th - August 27th (6-7:30pm).
