Today’s Max Effort Lift: SSYoke Bar Squat 1 x 500 lbs. Was hoping to do 10-20 lbs more for this top set, but the speed and form of my singles at 465 and 490 earlier in the workout were a bit iffy. Decided to go conservative for my third set above 90% 1RM, and 500 seemed like a good round number. Not sure 501 lbs would have gone up.

I hate missing my number.

Today’s Max Effort Lift: SSB Squat: 3x475 lbs.

Three sets above 90% max effort: 3x440, 3x460 before the 3x475 shown here. A third set above 90% is something I recently added to my max Effort days and is whoopin’ up on me pretty good so far.

After ME sets, for Conjuphasic:Dynamic drop sets, 3 sets of 5 @ 310 lbs, sans belt, assisted by reverse Average bands to really get the bar moving.

Finished up the day with Reverse Lunges, Reverse Hyper, and Ab work.

IESC athlete starts her high school graduation day with a strong PR Bench of 195 lbs! Congrats to Anna on the big bench and your commencement this evening! Next up: 200 lbs and Western Washington University.

Congratulations to IESC athlete .lehr22 for going 8 for 9 yesterday in his first powerlifting meet (and for his upcoming high school graduation next month). Here’s Andrew finishing the meet strong with a Deadlift PR of about 425 lbs.

Today’s Dynamic Effort Movement: Duffalo Bar Squats. 5 sets of 5x225 lbs plus about 90 LBs of band tension Accommodating Resistance at the top, and Accelerated Eccentrics throughout. Got the bar moving up at 0.798 m/sec, which is as fast as I’ve squatted working weight in a long time.

Today’s Max Effort: Sumo Deadlift into Doubled-over Mini Bands 430lbs x 5ish. Hard to believe it’s been over 3 years since I last did these. It’s just not the same doing these and not hearing complain about pulling against the same bands (and getting the same amount of space in an airline seat) as me.

Followed these with 3x5 sets of pulls dropping the bar down to mid shin for 3 second Iso holds.

Kept my contacts and conscious for all sets today! ☑️🙌👍🏼🙂

Today’s Max Effort Lift: Zercher Harness Front Squat 1x330 lbs.

I tweaked my left hip doing these last week so I lightly wrapped my upper thighs for today.

Today’s set just prior to this one at 300 felt good enough that I decided to jump to 330 instead the 320 lbs PR attempt I had programmed. I’m usually conservative about making jumps above PRs, but sometimes you’ve got to take advantage when things seem to be clicking for you. My Front Squat with the harness is beginning to suck less.
