On July 2nd, Joey, a young member of our gym and the Island Park Community, was hit by a car while riding his bike. He suffered a traumatic brain injury and is in a cervical collar due to severe whiplash. Joey is only 16 years old, just got his drivers permit, is an unbelievable athlete, incredibly smart, and is the sweetest, most caring kid you'll ever meet. Although he improves every day, Joey has a very long road ahead of him!

As you can imagine, this is absolutely terrifying for his mother, Mary. She is a respiratory therapist and works full-time however, with Joey's injury, she will need to provide care 24/7, requiring her to take leave from work. Mary also has a 14-year-old daughter, Gianna, who is a classmate of our daughter Gigi, receives athletic training at the gym with Eddie, and is absolutely devastated by everything that’s happening.

Mary is the most humble, wonderful person who does not ask for anything and needs help. At this time, we would like to raise money from our incredible ESPN members and make a donation on behalf of our ESPN Fitness Family.
