Originally a division under the Islamorada Sailfish Tournament, the event has introduced generations of kids to the thrill of offshore fishing, sportsmanship, and con

servation. For 61 years, families and captains have come together to pass down skills, honor the ocean, and shape the next wave of anglers. The IJST is more than a tournament, it’s a living piece of Florida Keys history.

Some of the best lessons in life aren’t taught in a classroom—they’re learned on a boat. Through early mornings, long days on the water, and stories shared between bites, fathers, grandfathers, and mentors help shape the next generation of anglers.

Whether you’re running the boat, rigging baits, calling out fish, or simply making memories that last a lifetime, your impact goes far beyond the catch. Thank you for teaching sportsmanship, perseverance, respect for the water, and a love for the outdoors.
