I finally have a moment to put together this post. Wednesday, my birthday, was a day I’ll never forget. It was one of the most memorable days of my life. Not just because we caught this 478lb sword fish, but because Zach made it happen on my birthday…first time running the boat without Bill for a sword trip. On our 2nd drift we hooked up and fought this beast for 4 hrs. At 2 hrs in, we got a dart in the fish. It continued to fight for another 2 hrs, diving back down 500ft about 5 times before we landed it. The fight was crazy! We had a few mishaps along the way, but it all came together in the end and we pulled it off! It’s moments like these with family and great friends that I’ll remember forever. Thank you Zach for being an amazing son and Bill for letting me fish while staying back to hold down the fort. Thanks Ty, Easton, and Ralph for joining us. Thanks James Chappell for answering my Inreach text and having the wonderful staff at World Wide Sportsman ready with the fork lift and scale. You guys were amazing.
