It is tough to imagine a world without our friend Doug Strzynski. The news of his passing was as shocking as it is terrible. He has been a fixture on the Ludington fishing community for decades, and will always be remembered for his angling skill, his passion for the fishery, and his strong will to compete. I think the video that Tournament Trail shared below shows so many of those things and more about our friend. Watching it put a smile on my face, and I hope it does the same for you.
For those of us that were also fortunate to spend time with him off the water, what we will remember most about our friend is that he cared so deeply for others. For his wife, for his three sons and extended family, and for his friends that he cherished so much. Doug was not always known to wear a shirt - something we would joke him about, but that is likely because he gave the one he was wearing that day to someone that needed it more than him. He was kind, generous, had an infectious smile, and was always willing to express to others how important they were to him. Remarkable traits that the world could use more of.
Until we meet again Doug…. We will give you a call on our way up so you can provide a complete fishing report and then swing by your new shop for a half dozen of your hottest new baits! RIP
