Big news Gauchos!!

We made it to playoffs this year and are heading to Arizona from April 8-10! It will cost around $2,500 to cover vans and gas to get us there. We have created a fund for our fans and alumni to support our team if they can, donations are very appreciated! All proceeds will go directly into helping our UCSB women's team with travel costs.

Congrats to UCSB Women's Rugby for winning their first game of pre-season at this weekend's tournament, Scrum by the Sea, in sunny San Diego!!

They played Claremont and won 15-0 with tries made this weekend by rookies Kellan Gilroy, Abby Hall, Kelly Castellon, returning player Kaylee Murphy, and backs captain Iliana Zapien!

We are so proud of our team and are looking forward to our game this Saturday the 20th against UC Davis at Russell Field. Kick-off will be at 10am, hope to see you there!!

Alumni weekend is slowly creeping up on us and we couldn't be more excited! Please don't forget to RSVP for the event so that we can secure food and drinks for everyone. Below is the itinerary for the weekend:

Friday, Oct. 15th:
Meet & Greet
- Time: 7 pm
- Location: Sam's To Go on Pardall in IV
- Women's team will pay for limited trays of sandwiches
* Everybody in charge of buying their own pitchers

Saturday, Oct. 16th:
Alumni Scrimmage
- Time: 1:30 pm
- Scrimmage at Goleta Beach Park: 5986 Sandspit Rd, Goleta, CA 93117

Nighttime Social
- Time: 9 pm
- Location: TBA

*Fee for the entire weekend: $30
($30 will pay for food/drinks)

Hello fellow UCSB women's rugby alumni,

Hope you are all doing well! We are currently trying to plan for a safe and fun alumni weekend this year. We are so excited to be able to finally see each other in person! We are asking for guests to either be fully vaccinated or have proof of a negative covid test 72 hours prior to the event date in accordance with UCSB covid policy. We will post more about this closer to the event date.

We are hosting the events the weekend of October 15-17. We will have a meet-and-greet on Friday, October 15th. For the meet-and-greet, we are planning on getting food in Isla Vista at Sams To Go. On Saturday, October 16th, we are planning for a beach day with a friendly game of rugby in sunny Santa Barbara.

Second half BYU vs UCSB

UCSB’s season ends with a loss to BYU, 7 - 49. The team played hard but couldn’t overcome the large and talented Cougars. Our Gauchos should be very proud of this season and all they accomplished.
