🎡 WE MADE IT. THE FINAL DAY IS HERE!! 🎡

Somehow, 12 days have gone by. At times they flew by… and at other times I’m pretty sure one single afternoon lasted approximately three business days. 😂

But what an experience it has been. ❤️

We’ve had SO many fun conversations, heard some incredible fishing stories, shared plenty of our own, met families who already love Create-A-Lure, and introduced it to families who are about to start making their own fishing memories. 🎣🎨

There’s been fair food. There have been side quests. There have been parking adventures we shall never speak of again. 😂 There’s been heat, humidity, long days, tired feet, family reinforcements, new vendor friends, and more laughs than I could possibly count.

And now… THIS IS IT!

🎡 SOMEHOW WE SURVIVED DAY 10… TODAY IS DAY 11! 😂

The last 10 days have somehow gone by incredibly fast and painfully slow at the exact same time. I don’t know how that’s scientifically possible, but the State Fair has apparently figured it out. 🤣

Yesterday we called in *reinforcements!* Our daughter, Aurora; my mom; AND a friend joined us as guest sellers in the booth. ❤️

At this point, if you’re related to us, friends with us, or accidentally make eye contact for too long… congratulations, you may be scheduled for a shift.😂

But seriously, having some extra faces in the booth made Day 10 a lot more fun—and we are officially SO CLOSE TO THE FINISH LINE.

🎡 DAY 9: COMPLETE! TODAY IS DAY 10! 😳

How are we already at Day 10?! At this point I’m not entirely sure what day it is—I just know where I’m supposed to show up. 😂

Yesterday we had some new faces helping in the booth — aka we recruited more family members into the State Fair chaos. 🤣 It was perfect timing because we had lots of people stopping by to chat!

We also ran into so many people we know personally outside of Create-A-Lure, which is always fun. ❤️

During some downtime last night, we got to chat with the gentlemen from Line Cutterz for a bit and… I’ll admit it…

*They reeled me in.* 🎣😂
I see what you did there, guys. Well played.

It was HOT and STICKY down in the Grandstand, so a huge THANK YOU to everyone who braved it, came down to Row 7, stopped at the booth, and spent some time chatting with us. We truly appreciate every one of you! ❤️🎣

Only 3 days left. 😳🎡

We’re so close I can almost feel the air conditioning. 😂

🎡 DAY 8: SURVIVED! TODAY IS DAY 9! 😂

Just when we thought we had finally solved the ongoing saga of “Will the unnamed employee successfully make it to the State Fair?”… Mother Nature decided she wanted a turn. ⛈️🤣

Yesterday’s adventure: stuck on the bus for an HOUR because of lightning.⚡️🚌 At this point, getting TO the fair has become its own daily side quest.

Once I finally made it, it was a slower night, which meant I had some time to work on my lures 🎨🎣… and apparently dedicate myself to the important task of trying a LOT of new fair foods. 😂 We also had a great time chatting with customers and getting to know even more of our fellow vendors.

8 days down. Today we take on DAY 9! 🙌

If you’re heading to the fair, come find us in Row 7 on the lower level of the Grandstand! Stop by, say hi, check out Create-A-Lure, and then do yourself a favor: go all the way to the gentleman at the end of our row (actually right next door lol) and try his salsa. 🌶️

🎡 DAY 7: SURVIVED! TODAY WE’RE ONTO DAY 8! 😂

Yesterday was a *slightly* shorter fair day for Brian and me because apparently our kids thought THREE different school open houses should take priority over our State Fair residency. 🤣📚 Three kids. Three schools. Because of course.

We still packed plenty into the day! We chatted with more amazing customers, got to know some of our neighboring vendors better, picked up some great advice from other vendors, AND came up with a few new ideas for the holiday season. 👀🎄🎣

There was noticeably less fair-food reviewing yesterday, though.

Apparently at some point during these 12 days we're expected to *actually work.* 😂 Who knew?!

7 days down. Today is DAY 8! 🎡🙌

Only 5 more days of fair chaos, customer stories, vendor shenanigans, questionable food decisions, and whatever side quests I manage to find along the way. 😂

🎡 DAY 6: SURVIVED! TODAY IS DAY 7! 🎡

We officially made it through the halfway point! 🙌 Although I’m still a little bitter that apparently the Hogwarts Express left without me. ⚡️🚂😂 Instead of heading to Hogwarts for the start of the school year, I’m still reporting for duty at the State Fair. Rude.

Day 6 was another HOT one 🥵, but Tuesday was also Military Appreciation Day, which made the day a little more special for us.

In case you didn’t know, Northern Lights Toys / Create-A-Lure is a U.S. Veteran-owned company. Our founder, Brian, proudly served in the United States Army. 🇺🇸

We know military service doesn’t only involve the person wearing the uniform. Their families sacrifice, adjust, wait, worry, support, and serve right alongside them in so many ways.

So to all of our veterans, active-duty service members, and military families: thank you. ❤️🤍💙 We truly appreciate the sacrifices you and your families have made.

Now… onto Day 7! 🎡

Hogwarts may have abandoned me, but the Grandstand still expects me to show up. 😂

🎡 DAY 5: SURVIVED! TODAY WE TAKE ON DAY 6! 😂

Yesterday was another good one! I finally got to finish painting my lure 🎨🎣, talked to even more people about Create-A-Lure, and—most importantly—continued my very serious State Fair food research.

🌭 Pronto Pup acquired. Because corn dogs are fine… but Pronto Pups are what corn dogs wish they could be. 😂
🧀 Nachos acquired because apparently I believe vegetables are optional during the fair.

🎯 SIDE QUEST UPDATE: Still accepting recommendations for things I absolutely *need* to eat, drink, find, or buy before these 12 days are over. Clearly I can be influenced. 😂

Onto DAY 6! We’re officially halfway there… which feels both exciting and mildly concerning. 🤣🎡

🎡 DAY 4: SURVIVED. TODAY WE TAKE ON DAY 5!😂

First things first: PARKING WAS A SUCCESS. 🙌

Apparently the secret is for a certain *nameless employee* to leave home TWO HOURS before they actually need to be there. 🤦‍♀️😂

The downside? Extra time at the fair.

The upside? Extra time at the fair. 😏🍹🍴

So naturally, there may have been some additional food and drink “research” conducted. For science, obviously.

It was HOT. It was HUMID. I ran into some friends, talked to lots of customers, and got to see even more pictures of the lures people have painted AND the fish they’ve caught with them—which seriously never gets old. ❤️🎣

And because apparently spending all day surrounded by Create-A-Lure isn’t enough… I ended the evening painting my own lures. 😂🎨🎣

Four days down. Today is DAY 5!

At this point I’m fueled by fair food, caffeine, customer stories, and the sheer determination to NEVER HAVE ANOTHER PARKING INCIDENT. 🤣🎡

🎡🎣 DAY 3: COMPLETE! TODAY WE TAKE ON DAY 4! 🎣🎡

Three days down and we are STILL having a blast!

Yesterday brought lots more conversations with customers, but one was especially fun — we talked to someone who told us he caught a MASSIVE northern on one of our lures! 🎣🙌

Apparently it worked well enough because he promptly turned around and bought another kit. 😂

⭐ We consider that a pretty solid product review.

Of course, we also continued our very important mission of eating our way through the fair.

Day 3's research included:

🍓 Strawberry Mojito Cider
🥩 Bull Bites
🤠 Deep Fried Ranch
🍔 An Uncrustable Burger

We're doing this for you, really. It's practically community service at this point. 😂

And then there was parking…

One of the five employees working yesterday — *we won't name names* 👀 — experienced yet ANOTHER parking situation.

Was it me?

Maybe.

Was it not me?

Also maybe.

The important thing is everyone eventually made it to the booth AND, miraculously, made it home without incident. 😂👏

DAY 3: SURVIVED. ✅

Now it's time for DAY 4! 🎡🎣

🎡🎣 GOOD MORNING FROM DAY 3! 🎣🎡

Day 2 is officially behind us, and apparently yesterday had a very strong “FEED THE BOOTH WORKERS” theme. 😂

We started the day with cookies at 8AM 🍪 because State Fair breakfast rules are apparently different from regular-life breakfast rules.

Then family showed up with an egg roll delivery 🥡❤️ — proving once again that the quickest way to our hearts is bringing food directly to the booth.

And the infamous Pickle Lemonade Cider? 🥒🍋

STILL. WAITING. 👀

The side quest remains ACTIVE.

But the best part of Day 2 was getting to talk with so many families, meeting new people, and sharing Create-A-Lure with kids and parents. 🎣❤️ Watching people discover what we do — and seeing kids get excited about creating their own fishing lures — makes these long fair days completely worth it.

And now…

🎡 IT'S DAY 3! 🎡

Two days down. Ten to go.

We're rested-ish.
We're caffeinated-ish.
We're definitely accepting food deliveries. 😂

And we're ready for another day of meeting all of you!
