⚡️REACTIVE SPEED > PRE-PLANNED SPEED⚡️

One of our favorite drills for developing true game speed is the Mirror Drill.

The athlete in the lead can shuffle side-to-side, jump onto the box, jump off, change direction, and create movement at any moment. The athlete chasing must react instantly, stay in front, and mirror every move.

Why do we do it?

✅ Improves reaction time
✅ Develops change of direction skills
✅ Teaches body control and balance
✅ Builds athletic awareness
✅ Creates game-like situations where athletes must react instead of guessing

Sports aren’t played with cones telling you where to go. Athletes must read, react, and make decisions in real time. That’s why we focus on drills that transfer directly to competition.

Train your eyes. Train your feet. Train your reaction.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!
As fathers, husbands, and leaders, we take pride in being protectors and providers for our families. But to take care of those we love, we have to take care of ourselves first.
Staying active, building strength, and maintaining our health isn’t just about looking good—it’s about having the energy, confidence, and ability to show up for the people who depend on us every day.
Here’s to all the dads putting in the work at home, at work, and in the gym. Keep leading from the front.

Today’s speed session focused on building complete athletes. 🔥
✅ Reaction Drills – Training athletes to react quickly and make fast decisions under pressure.
✅ Change of Direction – Improving body control, balance, and the ability to stop and re-accelerate efficiently.
✅ Bungee Technique Pulls – Teaching proper sprint mechanics, posture, and powerful movement patterns.
✅ Heavy Resistance Pulls – Developing acceleration strength and explosive force production.
✅ 10-Yard Sprints – Focusing on first-step quickness and acceleration.
✅ 30-Yard Sprints – Building speed and teaching athletes how to transition from acceleration to top-end speed.
Speed isn’t just about running fast. It’s about reacting, changing direction, producing force, and applying that force efficiently. Great work by everyone today! 💪⚡️🏃‍♂️

Ground contact time matters.
This drill starts with a drop off the box, followed by two explosive hurdle jumps and a sprint. The goal is simple: learn to absorb force, get off the ground quickly, and transfer that power into speed.
The faster and more efficiently an athlete can produce force into the ground, the faster they’ll be on the field, court, or track.
Train explosiveness. Train speed. Train movement.

Most athletes don’t get injured when they jump...
They get injured when they LAND.
A good landing means:
✅ Feet shoulder-width apart
✅ Knees and hips aligned
✅ Chest up
✅ Get stiff and stable quickly
The goal isn’t to keep sinking and moving after contact. The goal is to absorb force, control your body, and own the landing position.
Before you can be explosive, you must learn how to decelerate and land safely.
Train the landing. Protect the athlete. Build better movement.
