Keeping the Game Fair: The “Play Up” Rule
To ensure every match is competitive and developmental for our kids, CSL strictly prohibits “playing down.” # # # What This Means for Your Team
• No “Playing Down”: Players registered in higher, more competitive divisions are not allowed to drop down to play in lower divisions. This prevents “stacking” teams and keeps the playing field level for everyone.
• “Playing Up” is Encouraged: Players are always welcome to move up to a higher division to challenge themselves.
Why We Do It
We believe every athlete deserves a fair game. By ensuring players only move toward higher levels of competition, we protect the competitive integrity of our leagues and make sure every division remains balanced, fun, and appropriately challenging for the players registered there.
