Been putting off doing the brake adjustment on the Dahon Mariner for quite a while now. Was just adjusting cable from the lever and now had to do it at the brakes. I’m glad these are easy to work on.

Aired up 34 front and 36 rear.

After a little over a year of riding the Tern Bicycles Node D8 and its “swept back” bars which I jokingly called “alt” bars I decided to get actual alt (alternative) bars, a Ritchey Kyote and put it on one of my MTBs.

The RitcheyLogic Kyote bars were comfortable that in the 25 miles I rode today, no hand pain or tingling. I intentionally rode with no padded gloves to get the full experience.

Now I might try and see if this would work on the Node. I gotta measure with calipers first to ensure I wont be wasting time removing the levers and shifters.

Really late upload. I replaced the bottom bracket after changing cranks and chain ring as the chain line was severely off. The chain could only go to the first 4 gears.

A bottom bracket with the shortest axles (112 mm) was needed. Even at that, the cranks were pushed inboard a much as possible.

The only tools needed was a bottom bracket tool and a 3/8 driver bar. The longer the better of course for better torque. HACK: a seat post can be used as a handle extension!

First weekend of spring!

I was only 3+ miles to make 300 miles this year. Took off on the Electra Cruiser for a slow ride.

My old Specialized Sirrus Sport. Got it in March 2013 and July 2017 it was stolen. “Flo” was my JRA (Just Riding Along) or casual riding bike.

A month later I got a new bike instead. That replacement bike I also enjoyed and in 2019 sold it to fund my fat bike.

Things happen for a reason I suppose. Had that bike was not stolen, I would have not gotten a fat bike that I now enjoy much much more.

Wow. Apparently I did not post pics when I finally changed tires on the Dahon Mu SL.

I didnt go wider as I previously posted and kept it at the same tire width as before at 1.1 or 28mm. Got the Schwalbe One tires.

Could be just me but these new tires roll fast. And its because its newer, it has a greater puncture resistance than the old worn (and torn!) Stelvios.

One of my all time favorite solo rides.

Attempted to ride to the MASH set/site but the bridge was washed out due to recent rains. At least I found the sign. The real one however is in the Smithsonian.

Maybe this summer I’ll take another trip out.

After one admittedly very (very) light use, REI Seat pack is well worth it, especially at only $20 from FB Marketplace. Thought about getting one in ‘22 but never got around to it.

I needed a bag to stow layers as it warms up or to carry food. The Link is far bigger than I wanted it to be, which was the reason why didnt get it years ago, but there is no smaller size.

Will I bikepack with it? Likely not but in case I do, its capable. Its probably good for “coffee outside” like what I used to do during COVID.

Both the Dahon Mariner D8 and the Tern Node D8 have racks so the need for a saddle bag isnt important but other bikes like the Diamondback Haanjo 4 pictured, ifs very useful.

For a couple of months now I have been contemplating on “expanding” this page. I have been thinking of adding some non-folding bike posts and pics to this page. Most of you followers may not know, but I also ride other types of bikes however those other types of riding and bikes have been already covered by others. That space is very crowded thats why I focused on a different niche; the folding bike.

This page’s main focus will still be folding bikes but now will include cycling gear and accessories as well other kinds of bikes as well.

Looking forward for more content and followers!
