It’s not about the podium—it’s about the fun. Come rip your home mountain, throw down some timed runs, and support the future of MTB while you're at it. This grassroots race series is a fundraiser for our local 4-H MTB Team, helping the next generation of riders get rolling.

Bring your bike, your crew, and your best heckles. Whether you’re racing, cheering, or just here for the vibes, this one’s all about fun and camaraderie.

Cost is low because it's all about the timed runs. No frills! Also, shuttle passes are not included in your ticket, BUT season passes are honored.

Rain Can’t Stop the Stoke: First Sketchyville 4-H Stopwatch Downhill Race Rolls Through Shepherd Mountain

Ironton, MO – The first of two Sketchyville 4-H Stopwatch Downhill Races took place on Saturday, July 12th at Shepherd Mountain Bike Park, and not even a drenching downpour could slow the energy or spirit of the event. Riders from across Missouri and Illinois showed up ready to race, test their skills, and support a great cause.

Despite soggy conditions early in the day, the mountain came alive with excitement as racers took to the course. Big congratulations go out to all the participants—and especially to local riders Larry Jones and Ryan Moser, who took top honors and showed what homegrown talent can do on a world-class track.

This grassroots race is more than just friendly competition—it’s a fundraiser for Ironton's 4-H Mountain Bike Project, supporting local youth riders with safety gear, bikes, parts, and shuttle passes so they can train and participate in the sport, regardless of financial barriers.

Special thanks to Shepherd Mountain Bike Park for hosting the event and continuing to be a hub for community, outdoor recreation, and downhill racing.

Hey everyone, the race today is still on and we are looking forward to a break in the weather here shortly. The trails were super dry yesterday so this rain that we got actually made it through the trees. It should be epic for the trails. Yeah bring an extra set of clothes to head home in, but it’s gonna be a great day here at Shepherd Mountain. We’ll see you soon, but the race is still on.

Registration starts at 10 and shuttle start running at 10.

Whether you're racing for the prizes 🏆—bike-themed swag, shuttle passes—or BRAGGING RIGHTS, it's all about good times on great trails. 🤘
