Stars and Stripes 14U has a couple of roster spots open to play in the USSSA local weekend tournament here. 15U will be playing but we have a full roster. Bryant & Stratton College VA Beach finishes season 37-16. We were eliminated yesterday by Jones College out of Mississippi, the #4 team in the country and last years runner-up.

We faced an incredible pitcher who overmatched us and they went up on us 7-1. We scored 7 runs in the bottom of the 6th to go up 8-7 in the top of the 7th. Had 2 outs with bases loaded and 2 strikes on the hitter , one strike away from a win and somehow figured out how to lose the game. Tied the game and then they won in extra innings.

Our team earned a #14 ranking earlier in the year and I am certain we made an impact for starting out in the top 20 next year.

Great learning experience for the coaches and players. We had a great team this year....We will be a lot better next year. Cannot say enough about the girls who helped us build this program! Some great young women who will be furthering their playing at other colleges and hitting home runs in life!

I hope you have been following the developmental journey with Bryant & Stratton College in Va Beach. Taking a program that won 22 games in 7 years and immediately making an impact is not easy! Takes a village.

I have been very quiet the last few weeks but wanted the people who have followed this story to know where we currently stand. I will write another article when our season is over. Hopefully, it will not be this weekend and we will take a ride to the NJCAA World Series!

Stars and Stripes Sports has impacted many families and it is great to get a correspondence like t his!

Hey coach - first happy anniversary . Seeing that post brought back some memories .
Don’t know if you’ll remember me or my son Will, he played for you on Stars and Stripes a decade or so ago. Have some great memories of Florida of course …but also traveling to South Carolina Massachusetts San Diego and other places.
Anyway …he kept playing - pitched in college in southern cal (d3) …and he’s still in baseball . Day job as an elementary coach , but nights and weekends has a nice business as a pitching coach , runs pitching camps and clinics and lots of private lessons.

Just thought a former coach would like to know that a former s and s player is now doing baseball coaching and training - probably using some of the things you taught way back when ! 🙂
