Softball camp 2026 is in the books. As always it was a great 3 days, with 60+ campers. Parents thank you for sending your daughters and trusting us with them. Special thanks to our camp instructors this year: Cali Berrett, Jacie Barnes, Halli Kennedy and Bailey Martinez. The younger girls look up to you all so much and you could see the excitement in their faces to be led by you all. Jacie Barnes and Cali Berrett representing Lady Hawks softball one more time tonight at the FCA game. Texas defeats Oklahoma 4-0. Cali was mentioned as player of the game, 2-2 at the plate with a double and a triple and came in to close the game with 3 strikeouts in the 7th inning. Jacie was 1-2 with a stolen base and some usual great plays in center field.

First day of camp done. Our camp instructors Callista Berrett, Jacie Barnes, Halli Kennedy and Bailey Martinez put them to work today. It was great to see the older girls coaching and teaching the next generations. Two more days to go 💚🥎

After having a little time we were finally able to start reflecting on this 2026 season. What an amazing, history making season it was. Struggled early in the season offensively, felt like we couldn’t hit water if we fell out of a boat, but the bats and offense came alive at the right time. Pitching and defense was outstanding for the entirety of the year. Yes, we came up just a little short in the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP game. But our girls left it all on the field, and that’s all us coaches can ask for. Battled their hearts out, showed their true character, and played with extreme determination. Our goal was to soak up every moment of this post season run and especially the state championship experience. I stressed the importance of that because of hard lessons learned myself. Yes, we will remember finishing runner up in the state championship, which is an incredible accomplishment. But the memories made, the laughter shared, the bonds that were created, will never be forgotten or broken. This is a very special group that I and the coaching staff love with all our hearts. Cry because it happened not because it’s over. 💚🥎

I don’t have the words to explain or describe the last two days. But let’s start with WE ARE GOING TO THE SHIP. Defeated Mineola in the state semifinals 4-3 in game one and 7-2 in game two. The amount of character, grit, and determination our girls showed this series was nothing short of amazing. Battled their guts out in an 11 inning walk off win in game one. Fell behind in game two 2-0, then rallied to tie it up, then blew it open in the 6th inning with home runs from Callista Berrett and Jacie Barnes. What an outstanding performance from Callista Berrett, in the circle. Almost 200 pitches in game one, woke up today and said “I want the ball for game 2”. Gutsy performance today as well. State championship game will be on Thursday at 4:00 in Austin. 💪🏽💚🥎🏆
