Week 1 of the 2026 Fall Season is in the books! Here's a recap of how it went:

Men's D2
Our two D2 clubs Palmer College Rugby Football Club and Des Moines Rugby Football Club faced off in Davenport. Always a hard fought battle but this one was in favor of Palmer. Final score 47-0

Men's D3
With a late schedule adjustment, our D3 league has dropped down to 3 teams, with Bremer County Bucks Rugby Club receiving a 28-0 forfeit win over Des Moines D3.
Also in D3, West Des Moines Wombats Rugby Club faced Dubuque Rugby in a defensive battle. The Wombats pulled away in the second half with a 36-20 victory in Dubuque.

Men's D4
A short sided Northeast Iowa Rugby Club traveled to Davenport to face Quad City Irish Rugby. A tight first half proved for a great match, but the Irish pulled away in the second half, winning 75-17.
Finishing out our games for the weekend was the inaugural 15s match for Marion Mutants Rugby Club against Iowa Falls Rugby Football Club Foundation. This game ended in favor of Iowa Falls, 47-29.

A great start to what's looking to be an exciting fall!
