🤩 Exciting News!! 🤩

ISDTA is excited to announce an important update for the 2026–2027 season!

Following the recent approval of eighth-grade student eligibility to participate in high school athletics, eighth-grade students will now be permitted to participate and compete at the high school Varsity or JV level in dance and color guard programs.

Students may be rostered on either the Varsity or JV team at their school (or cooperative agreement), but not both. Academic eligibility requirements will follow Iowa Department of Education guidelines, and all dance and color guard teams must continue to adhere to the policies established by their local school district regarding eighth-grade participation on high school competitive teams.

We look forward to welcoming more young athletes to our programs and continuing to provide opportunities for growth, leadership, and excellence in dance and color guard across Iowa.
