Iowa City Aikikai We've been practicing aikido (合気道), the "art of peace," in Iowa City since 1971. Our practice space is at the Robert A.

Lee Recreation Center in downtown Iowa City. From https://www.icgov.org/city-government/departments-and-divisions/parks-and-recreation click on the "Register for Activities" button in the upper right, then select "Activities," then search for Aikido.

Hi all,

The weather forecast predicts icy roadways tomorrow afternoon and evening (Wednesday, February 5). While tempting, practicing ukemi on ice is not recommended. And of course cars cannot perform ukemi. Accordingly, tomorrow evening’s class is cancelled.

Hi all, there will be no class on Wednesday, November 27 to accommodate the holiday. The day after Thanksgiving is a great chance to practice tai sabaki on your own 😊
