Nine bold and brave fencers competed in our Titanium Epee today, where everyone fenced everyone in 15-touch bouts! Congratulations to undefeated champion John Beach (Ataba Fencing Club)! Don Treanor (ICFC/Fencing Center of Chicago) took second, Luke Tierney (ICFC) took third, and Kaeleb Hensel (Rockford Fencing Club) took fourth. Fifth went to Ross Banach (Ataba Fencing Club), sixth to Mark Glasnapp (Central Iowa Fencing Academy/DMACC Fencing Club), seventh to Clement Cochet (ICFC), eighth to Ege Gur (ICFC) and ninth to Balazs Csizmadia (DMACC Fencing Club/Central Iowa Fencing Academy). All received Titanium Survivor medals.

Many, many thanks to Sara Pettit for volunteering her time once again to referee! And to all the fencers who stepped up and refereed so we could keep three strips going. Thanks for coming, everyone!

Junior Team fencers River Axt, Gabriel Bales, Levi Kalina, and Lucas Lee had a great time sharing their love of fencing at Storypoint Senior Living last Tuesday! They demonstrated foil, epee, and saber and answered lots of questions. None of the audience had ever seen fencing before, and they all enjoyed it immensely. Some of them even tried our electronic target!

We had lots of fun at our June Bug Youth tournament today! In Y10 Foil, Sai Selvaraj (Fencing Center of Chicago) earned the gold medal, James McQueen III (St. Louis) earned the silver, Jasper Niciu (ICFC) and Isaiah Gambrell (ICFC) earned the bronzes, and Violet Soper (Badger Fencing Club) took fifth.

In Y12 Foil, Will Langdon (ICFC) was our champion, Sai Selvaraj (Fencing Center of Chicago) earned the silver, and Florian Verrier Maffre (ICFC) took the bronze.

In Y14 Foil, Adam Chojnacki (ICFC) was our champion, Clement Verrier Maffre (ICFC) earned the silver, River Axt (ICFC) and Caleb Walters (ICFC) took the bronzes, and Florian Verrier Maffre (ICFC) took fifth.

Great fencing everyone, and we hope to see you at the Last Chance Youth in July!

Wow, what a Titanium Foil tournament yesterday! Twelve grueling hours of twenty people fencing everyone else in 15-touch bouts! It was a lot of fencing, a lot of experience, a lot of fun, and tiring! Congratulations to champion Lucas Brown (Buccaneer Blades Fencing) who only lost one bout! Second place went to Gabriel Bales (ICFC), third to Luken Addis (ICFC). Both had 17 victories, but Gabriel had a +126 indicator and Luken had +120. Fourth went to Michael Kennedy (Des Moines Fencing Club/ICFC) with 16 victories and he had an amazing indicator of +150! Many, many thanks to Sara Pettit, who refereed countless bouts and only seemed to leave her strip to get another scoresheet if no one brought her one! And special thanks to Evan Decker, who not only fenced (he came in fifth!) but when he wasn't fencing he was refereeing, and after it was all over he even stayed and helped tidy things up. Thanks also to Greg Bales who managed to find all the right tiny squares to enter the scores on our computer (we couldn't even see the whole scoresheet on the screen at one time), and brought food to share. And thanks to the Kennedys for all the great action shots, and making sure our refs got fed. Thanks to Fay Vittetoe for shouting out on-deck bouts and tracking people down to get to their strips. Thanks to all the fencers who helped out refereeing and to everyone for pushing through that tough stretch before the excitement of their last bout of the day. It was great to see folks having such a good time and getting to know people from other clubs.

Our Titanium Saber tournament was great today! Nine fencers fenced everyone else in 15-touch bouts. Many had their first chance to fence in a chair with our parafencer, and everyone said it was a fun experience.

Many thanks to Evan Decker, Preston Kirkpatrick, and fencers who volunteered to referee! And special thanks to Junior Team fencer Nolan Niemeijer, who adjusted the parafencing equipment as needed for each bout. And thanks to the Kennedys for the great action shots!

Our Titanium Saber champion was Levi Miller (Des Moines Fencing Club). Second place went to Michael Kennedy (Des Moines Fencing Club/Iowa City Fencing Center). Luken Addis (ICFC) took third, and Trevor Carra (Des Moines Fencing Club) took fourth. Jesse Lancaster (Des Moines Fencing Club) took fifth, Alex Cox (Des Moines Fencing Club) took sixth, Don Mayhew (ICFC) took seventh, Rand Happ (Des Moines Fencing Club) took eighth, and Arwin Shrestha (ICFC) took ninth.

There was some great fencing at our Dinosaur Youth tournament today! In Y12 Foil, Levi Kalina (ICFC) was our champion after scoring in the priority minute in an exciting bout to win 14-13 against silver medalist Adam Chojnacki (ICFC). Our bronze medalists were Florian Verrier Maffre (ICFC) and Will Langdon (ICFC).

In Y14 Foil, Levi Kalina (ICFC) was again our gold medalist, and Clement Verrier Maffre (ICFC) earned the silver medal. Caleb Walters (ICFC) and Nolan Niemeijer (ICFC) took the bronzes.

Far away in Richmond, Virginia today, ICFC's Jann Ream competed in the Vet 70 Women's Epee and Don Mayhew competed in his first big tournament, the Parafencing National Championships in Men's Saber. Jann went 1-4 in the pools, had a bye in the table and then a tough 9-10 loss to the eventual bronze medalist, finishing in 14th place.

Don went 1-5 in the pool round, and then lost his DE to the eventual gold medalist, finishing in 7th place and earning a medal! He met people from all over the country, and found out that his opponents had been fencing for years, not just the few months that Don has held a saber. He learned a lot and is excited to continue his fencing career. Fancy new spoke protectors were added to our ICFC wheelchair, too. Congratulations, Don!

Our Rubber Ducky Senior was a fun tournament today! In Open Saber, Luken Addis (ICFC) was our champion, giving himself a gold medal for his birthday. Our parafencer Don Mayhew (ICFC) earned the silver medal, and Don Treanor (ICFC/FCC) took the bronze.

In Unrated Foil, Brian Gollnick (ICFC) was our champion, Caleb Walters (ICFC) earned the silver medal, and Olivia Miller (ICFC) took the bronze.

In Open Foil, Evan Decker (ICFC) was our champion, Mary Jo Ratchford (ICFC) earned the silver medal, and Don Treanor (ICFC/FCC) and Olivia Miller (ICFC) took the bronzes.

In Open Epee, Luke Tierney (ICFC) was our champion after winning an exciting 15-14 bout against silver medalist Don Treanor (ICFC/FCC). Mary Jo Ratchford (ICFC) earned the bronze.
