Fishing with George is always a great conversation and a chance to gain knowledge you can only get from an old tuna angler and commercial fisherman. I pray in my 80's I'm this tough and still able to get it done. We fished 3 days on the end of the drawdown at Rodman Reservoir. Got a few trophies, 8lbs plus and shared the stories of 2 old anglers. He tosses a lot ot 4 to 5 pounders cause he's not easy to impress after giant tuna, and doesn't want pictures of much. After fishing all morning this guy installed 2 toilets for a friends widow he promised to watch over. One of my the men I respect the most.

It took a few days in a row to pull off a picture worthy post. It happens and thanks to old friends that understand fishing isn't always on fire. Rodman is being filled again so the bass are moving and can be a bit difficult to locate. We fished to no avail for an hour and moved a few times then....... racked off about 8 fish fast then kept it going with some sweet 8 pounders!

I had 2 days with these repeat clients bass fishing on Rodman Reservoir the last 2 days. Day 1 was OK and we had a few fish with an 8. Most were smaller but fun. Day 2 was a miserable start without a bite till till almost 10. It sucks but happens. Then after some moves and the sun broke through the fog..... BOOM! Some days are oddly special. What I mean is all odds are against you. The water temp dropped 10 degrees as a cold front came a callin'. I had a pucker factor for sure when I looked at the electronics. Then this gal busted her first fish ever, I mean never caught a fish, trophy 8 pounder. Crazy, and she was a natural! The bite was as frosty as the weather and freezing wind but what we caught was all solid big fish. Great day with this young couple from PA. The competition was on for the Moore family and you can see the winner. I love the fun and games of this work. The pre cold front on Sunday kicked em off. Landed 15 bass and 3 big crappie/speck by 9:30. Great morning with repeat guests. Look forward to seeing you folks again.

I had these guys from Kentucky out on Friday. A bit late on the post but, we were heading to Steinhatchee for an inshore trip and the Fiddler Crab Festival. The pattern stayed the same for me, an early bite then dead after around 9:30. That said we did bust a 10.5 and around 15 bass. I actually deleted my pic of the hawg.

Day 2 with Mike and family started at 28 degrees! That's stupid for Florida. It was an odd foggy morning and Jr. just wacked em with 12 fish by 9AM. Oddly Rodman has been shutting down around 9 or 9:30 the last few days. I think the changing moon phase and warmer weather will change this pattern.

I can't believe this guy showed up in shorts! Tougher than me the cold didn't bother him much and a few solid bass didn't either. The super cold snap has had fishing I would say odd at best. It starts off good early and just dies. Caught our biggest fish on the first cast at 7lbs.

Rodman on the drawdown is always special. Blew up the bass today pre cold front. It was a slow morning start then the fish turned on with over 20 bass on a 6 hour trip with a 13.2 to start the winter season. Yee haw! Book early and often dates are filling up.
