Coach Scott and I have had to make a difficult decision and it pains to me to say that Stampede will not be having a season this year. We have been struggling to get our numbers to where they need to be. People who were "excited about a program like this and wanted to be a part of something new" didn't show up. Every free day we had, we went out and handed out flyers and spoke to hundreds of parents and kids and they did not show up. Both cheer directors quit last night.
We were starting IYS with nothing. It takes ALOT of time and sacrifice to start a program like this and it is not easy. We get no days off. If I am not at work, I am on the phone, I am out handing out flyers, we are at Walmart with a table, we are at the parks, we even went to churches and disrupted a couple of choir practices. We never left home without flyers in case we ran into people that were out with kids. I went to 30 different businesses in one day asking for support...
Coach Scott and I have done this since 2002. Words cannot explain how much we love doing it. How much we love being around the kids and it hurts to find ourselves in this predicament.
We will continue to do passing league for those interested on Mondays and Thursdays from 6-730 at Lois Park. If you have any questions, feel free to call me 830-890-0792.
Thank you so much to the ones that showed up at the meeting last night. I really appreciate you guys hanging in there with us and I am so very sorry that this is how it all wound up. I was so excited and looking forward to doing all this and now....
