This man now holds the state’s top bragging rights on the water. 🎣

TWRA just confirmed a new state-record largemouth bass and it’s a tank: 15 lbs, 7.5 oz and 27 7/8 inches long (previous record was 15lbs 3oz. set in 2015.)

Darren Nunley (Whitwell) landed it on Nickajack Reservoir back on Feb. 28 around 8 a.m. using a jackhammer chatterbait.

It even got the official treatment: weighed on a certified grocery store scale, plus a fin clip for genetic testing (finalized May 9).

So… be honest: if you hooked into that, are you staying calm or hollering loud enough for the whole lake to hear? 😄
