Well look at KBEMS , finally making a baby medic position. If you’ve not seen the new scope of practice , released on 8/8/24 , you probably need to look. AEMT’s now have it in their scope to administer Midazolam. I’ve scratched my head from the day they gave them fentanyl/ketamine , why in the world not give them something for seizures. Medics need to review the scope as well , they changed somethings , as well as added some things. Now for the opinions to flow in : (leave a message at the beep).(AEMT’s you got the county , Medics get to the IFT trucks, we got patients to move).

Always a proud moment finding out students have passed , we’ve had two students achieve their AEMT NREMT certification. I’m definitely proud of their accomplishments , and can’t wait to see them succeed in EMS ! Inez Fire/Rescue-EMS Program

Today the Inez Volunteer Fire Department EMS Program held the NREMT AEMT Psychomotor exam. A necessary skills assessment for candidates to gain their national certification. I’m happy to report that 23 candidates successfully completed it. I’d like to thank the NREMT Proctor , as well as all the EMS providers who stepped up to be evaluators , giving up a day of their time to ensure the quality of our profession remains high. I’d also like to thank HealthNet for providing Pizza Stop pizza for the candidates and evaluators.

Deadline for EMT and AEMT class was yesterday , I will be closing the class for registration this evening. Also, today is the last day to sign up for rhe NREMT AEMT Psychomotor exam on the 27th of January. Good news is , we have enough on all three events to hold them.

Lots of things going on in the world of EMS training I’ve submitted the applications for our EMT, Hybrid AEMT , Accelerated AEMT and NREMT Psychmotor testing NREMT testing will be January 27th at 0900 for AEMT level I will be posting the flyers soon for the EMS courses

Tonight I’m going to brag a little bit. We decided to try something different , and offered an accelerated Advance EMT course. We had some that said , not possible , not practical , doubted it , etc. This isn’t for the weak or the unmotivated, it’s for the provider who knows what they want , puts the task in front of them and knocks it out. This group came together for a week of on site time , where we taught skills, lectures and scenarios. Tonight 5 of the 6 took their final exam , and while the scores were across the spectrum , from 70’s to 90’s, they all passed. We have one more to test , and I’m confident in them as well. This group is doing ride time , then off to take the national test. One proud educator ! Great job group! Inez Fire Rescue
