Hey guys, welcome to Sunday Polo. thanks for sharing some of my day with me so we often have new people coming into Polo from different horsey backgrounds. I’ve seen plenty people get overwhelmed by polo tack. It’s not that the Tack is different. It’s just that it has everything that you could possibly have on an English bridle all on one bridle. It’s not that we tied it away. Definitely we do it. Exactly the same. It’s just that there’s a lot more tack. It’s heavier for sure. And that’s what I want to illustrate in this video so you’ll see I have an English headstall and a full Polo bridle. You can see obviously, illustrated by the direct comparison that each of the leather pieces is substantially larger on the Polo bridals both in the width, and the most instances the deck, but a really good quality English bridle the leather will be as deep as the leather on a polo bridle. The English bridal seems so much more delicate than the polo, and that’s exactly as to be expected, because in Polo what we want is safety and durability and reliability. Often times on an English bridal you will have a headstall, browband, cheek pieces, noseband reins and bit. With maybe a martingale/breastplate. On a polo bridle, we have all of that but we always have two sets of reins and both a martingale and a breast plate. Optionally there may be a grackle/ figure 8 nose band or a drop nose band aswell as the cavesson. And yes, it always a heck of a lot more than a regular English set up.
