Annnnd, that’s a wrap! 1,095. Over a thousand!! THAT is the total number of entries throughout this year’s 16 Days of Indianola Giveaways .. and that’s not even including bonus entries! And, the posts were shared a total of 195 times and a total of 561 followers were gained across all participants!! SO AMAZING! I know it can seem like a little thing, but those follows, likes, comments, and shares really do make a difference. I am so proud of all the participation each day and all the love we spread for our awesome local businesses! Nothing warms my heart more than the many times I've been told, "I love that you do this, that's how I've learned about so many small businesses here!"

Sweet Charlie Sue crossed the rainbow bridge Thursday.

Charlie has become a staple in our community. She was always at the gym for classes from sun up to sun down. And, she was at the pet store every week ready to greet her new customer friends.

From the moment Charlie met someone, she became their best friend. She was such an old sassy soul with the kindest heart and most gentle touch. She loved her people, and she had a lot of them.

When Charlie got diagnosed with cancer in March, she hopped in the car and took off to the ocean. Few things made that girl happier than the water. A few trips to the mountains, Midwest getaways, daily adventures around Iowa, and of course that sunshine always filled her soul.

This sweet princess sure will be missed by so many. The pain from losing her is going to run deep. But, the love she gave for her short 11.5 years on this earth will always run deeper.

Love you, Charlie girl. 🩷
You will forever be the best girl.

Join the us in participating in the workout MURPH this Memorial Day on the Indianola Square to honor our fallen military men and women.

The Murph workout is a dedication to honor Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy. Lt. Murphy died in Afghanistan June 28, 2005. “Body Armor”, as it was previously named, was his favorite workout to do. The workout starts with a mile run, followed by 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 air squats, and finishing with another mile run all while wearing a 20lb vest for guys and a 14lb vest for ladies. It takes grit, determination, and sacrifice. This workout is done every Memorial Day to honor ALL the service men and women we have lost while fighting for their country.

This year, we will be moving our rig to the Indianola square. All are welcome to join! Even though it is a very tough workout, we will be modifying the workout for all fitness abilities and levels. We will start at West Hill Brewery and have heats going every 30 minutes.
Your ticket price will include a tshirt, post-workout snacks, as well as a beverage at West Hill Brewing Company (for those that are 21+). All proceeds will go to Puppy Jake Foundation and Homelessness Empowerment and Love - HEAL House of Iowa here in Indianola.

We are beyond excited to be a sponsor for tonight’s “Raise the Woof” event. This is a fundraiser dinner to raise funds for Kiya Koda Humane Society’s new home as well as continued care for the animals!
The land has been bought now the building needs built.

UNDONE STRENGTH AND FITNESS IN THE COMMUNITY

Coach Nealey was able to jump in on the Indianola High School girls soccer team’s practice last night. They started the evening with discussions on recovery, energy, and hydration. Then, Coach Nealey took the girls through a recovery practice to help them learn different movements and techniques they can use throughout the season to help with recovery. She didn’t mind coaching soccer again either… 😉

UNDONE STRENGTH AND FITNESS IN THE COMMUNITY

Back in February, we welcomed the Indianola sophomore boys basketball team! Coach Singleton with the basketball team and Coach Nealey took the boys through a solid strength and performance workout. We had a great time working with you guys! 💪🏼

In March we had a group of members that took on Indianola Young Professionals event, Putt Putt and Pints. Just because they workout, doesn’t mean their accuracy is up to par for putt putt. Good thing there wasn’t a live leaderboard for them to watch. 😉

Most recently, Coach Nealey had the opportunity to go speak to one of Indianola’s local Boy Scout groups. She talked about the importance of proper nutrition, exercise, and healthy habits in everyday life. Thanks to our member, Patrick, for setting up this cool experience! 👏🏼

It’s all about community. Always. And we have a pretty great one here.

OUR YEARLY SUMMER COMPETITION IS BACK!
But, this time, as:

CHARLIE’S COMPETITION

This is the FIFTH year of our summer competition and we are ready to make it the best year yet!

This year we changed the name to honor our sweet gym girl, Charlie. She was diagnosed with cancer on March 19th with no treatment options. At 11.5 years old, Charlie Girl is and always will be one of the biggest parts of this gym. She wakes up early for the AM classes and stays well into the evening to see her PM members. She doesn’t know a stranger at our gym, but knows when it’s time to get down to work. The sweetest girl, the biggest heart, and the strongest soul.

Our male/female comp is a RX, intermediate, and scaled competition. Each year we grow bigger and bigger and have been selling out earlier from the year before. Be sure to get signed up ASAP! REGISTRATION OPENS APRIL 14th at 8a. The last day to sign up and still get a t-shirt will be Sunday, June 29th at 11:59pm. However, we will still take teams if we aren’t sold out, past then.
