A new week and another state championship.

The SCTP State Sporting Clays Championship kicks off today at Highland Hideaway in Riverside with our Intermediate and Rookie athletes. JV and Varsity shooters will take the course Friday and Saturday.

We're excited to watch our athletes take on the challenge, represent WCSS, and make more memories during another great week of competition.

Let's go WCSS! ๐ŸŽฏ

With the final JV/Varsity awards wrapping up the SCTP State Trap Championship today, we couldn't be more proud of what our athletes accomplished this week in Cedar Falls.

WCSS athletes rose to the occasion. We celebrated personal bests, 25 straights, 50 straights, shoot-off appearances, league championships, and countless moments of growth throughout the week.

One of the accomplishments we're most proud of is that WCSS athletes earned podium finishes in every discipline contested during State Trap Championship week. From Singles to Handicap to Doubles, our athletes continued to prove that WCSS is building something special and making a name for itself across the state.

A special congratulations to Jayce Dykstra, who shot an impressive 198/200 in the Varsity Championship division, earning a spot in a five-way shoot-off tied for 3rd place overall. After a hard-fought shoot-off, Jayce finished 7th overall. He also earned 1st Place Varsity League Singles and capped off the day by winning the All-State Captain Shoot-Off and HOA.

Beyond the scores and awards, what stands out most is the way this team continues to grow. Every athlete who stepped on the line this week represented WCSS with determination, resilience, and sportsmanship while competing against some of the best shooters in the state.

Thank you to our coaches, families, volunteers, board members, and sponsors who make opportunities like this possible. The success of this program is a direct reflection of the incredible support behind these athletes.

As we pack up camp and head home, we're bringing back more than medals and trophies. We're bringing back memories, confidence, personal bests, and plenty of momentum for the next competition.

We couldn't be more proud of this group.

Rain delays may have slowed things down, but they didn't stop our athletes from finishing strong today at the SCTP State Trap Doubles Championship.

Congratulations to our athletes who earned podium finishes:

๐Ÿฅ‡ Jase Williamson โ€” 1st Place Rookie Men
๐Ÿฅ‰ Jayce Dykstra โ€” 3rd Place Varsity Men
๐Ÿ… Alayna Stone โ€” 4th Place Intermediate Entry Ladies League

We're proud of the way our athletes stayed focused through a long day of weather delays and changing conditions. Their patience, determination, and resilience were on full display from start to finish.

Tomorrow, the State Trap Championship wraps up as our JV and Varsity athletes take the line for Singles. Good luck to all of our shooters competing on the final day of the week. Finish strong! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’ฅ

Another day at the SCTP State Trap Championship is in the books, and our athletes battled through weather delays, rising temperatures, and a long day on the line.

We're proud of the many personal bests and strong performances that came out of today's handicap event, but one performance that deserves special recognition is Everett Hildreth's.

Everett wrapped up his rookie season with a personal best score and a 5th Place finish. He has put in the work on handicap all season long, and today it paid off. Watching him finish his final rookie event with his best performance yet was something special, and we couldn't be more proud of him.

Congratulations to Everett and all of our athletes for staying focused, competing hard, and representing WCSS so well.

Yesterday and today, our Intermediate and Rookie athletes took on the SCTP State Trap Championship, and what an incredible start to the week it has been. We celebrated countless personal bests, several 25 straights, a few 50 straights, and so many moments that made us proud to be part of this team.

A special congratulations to Zach Gute, who shot a personal best 195/200 and earned 3rd Place Intermediate Advanced after a three-way shoot-off for second. What an incredible performance on one of the biggest stages of the season.

Another huge shoutout goes to Jase Williamson, who capped off a stellar rookie season by shooting a personal best 82/100 and earning 3rd Place Rookie League. What a way to finish a fantastic season.

Beyond the scores, some of our favorite moments happened back at camp, where athletes, coaches, and families embraced our Luau and Race Day themes, made memories, and enjoyed everything that makes state week so special.

We couldn't be more proud of this group. Their hard work, sportsmanship, determination, and support for one another continue to make WCSS something special.

Next up: Handicap competition tomorrow, followed by Doubles on Thursday and JV/Varsity Singles on Friday. Good luck to all of our athletes as state week continues!
