We had a great opening weekend back at Greenville Speedway. We were given the opportunity to work on a used 2019 Black Diamond recently purchased by Christian Chamblee. Our goal was to figure out the tightness issues he had at Magnolia the weekend prior.

Friday night, we went to the open practice and noticed immediately that the car was under powered. That led to us working on engine first and discovering some major issues with the power plant. Thankfully, it was salvageable. From there, we got the car running with full power to move on to suspension.

We chose Saturday night to run with the MSCCS Super Latemodels knowing good and well with a tacky track would put us under the gun but we were here to test suspension parts that came with the car to see what works best in certain track conditions and as the night slicks off.

During the heat race the car began to get a little more temperature than we liked so Chris pulled off early. We were confident we fixed that issue then changed shock packages to test. We made some laps in the feature and decided to pull off to let the supers battle it out.

Although our race results don't prove anything, we made great progress and got great notes. By Sunday, we made another test session allowing Christian to make some laps with what we found and allowed us to adjust the car to his driving style. We're excited to see what Christian will accomplish in this hot rod.

This past weekend me and the team had the opportunity to attend Greenville Speedway and try our luck at our home town tracks season finale, The Gumbo Nationals!!
We would start the weekend off Thursday with practice where we would go out as many times as we could to test stuff we’ve been working on. With out a transponder we couldn’t prove we found speed but the next night would prove us right.
The following night was the official day one of gumbo nationals. We would hot lap 5th out of the 15 crate cars there. We made a few adjustments for how we thought we’d need to be in qualifying and hit it pretty close giving us 2nd quick and locking us in on the front row for saturdays finale. We would turn our attention to helping my cousin Christian get his car ironed, he would finish fourth in the heat later that night.

The finale on Saturday saw us starting our day by going over the front end of Christian’s cars, and setting him up for a soon to be triumphant run for the feature. We saw the track taking rubber towards the end of the super finale and knew the stars could be lining up for us to capture our first gumbos trophy. We would take the lead after the initial start and try to set a pace to hopefully not catch lap traffic but fast enough to not put myself in danger, but once we caught the lap cars we would find ourselves tangled with another driver with the left door ripped off, luckily either they protected the leader or someone spun before me. I don’t know just happy I got my spot back. When I fired back up after the crew got the door off I noticed my oil pressure was at zero. I would go from there and try to distance myself as much as I could after that but on the following caution the car started stumbling and on our final restart it would fall on its face and make it to coming out of turn 2 before giving away ending out night. As heart broken I’ve been to have the amount of speed I had all weekend brings a smile through it all, and thank you to everyone who had kind words for me in a moment of disappointment.

With the lose of the motor our season is finished but we have some very exciting news coming soon for yall and the future of our program in a whole thanks to some great friends we’ve made along the way, so stay tuned for that when we finalize that.

Finally with the wild season we’ve had it takes a big group of people to keep it going so thank you to everyone who pitched a hand loaned a part, or even just kept us motivated all year.

Although our run at the Gumbo Nationals ended as it did, we are not hanging our heads. We would like to share some statistics with you about our incredible 3D Racing Engine and why Dwight Dellinger will always be our builder.

3D Racing Engines was with us when we started Showah Jr Motorsports. He was with us through hard times when we totaled a racecar and had to start over. He was with us when we took home our first series win. He's powered us to multiple track championships and series points runs. He keeps up with our program and makes sure that he's just a call or text away for every question.

ENGINE 2: Built in 2023.
FEATURES - 41
WINS - 4
TOP 3 - 15 37%
TOP 5 - 22 54%
TOP 10 - 32 78%

Our program would not be what it is without 3D Racing Engines. Our engine lasted far longer than we ever could have hoped. That's why we are heading back to South Carolina for the next one and we suggest you give Dwight a call if you want the best!

For those asking, yes, he is a certified Crate Racing USA engine builder!
