The Esports Program at Butler University combines competitive gaming with academic excellence, professional development, leadership growth, and networking opportunities. Founded in 2017 as a student-led initiative, Butler Esports supports varsity teams competing in over a dozen popular game titles, providing students with valuable hands-on experience in esports production, media, event operations,
and gaming industry careers. Opened in Fall 2022, the Butler Esports Park is a 7,320 square foot esports facility featuring more than 50 high-performance gaming PCs, multiple consoles, and virtual reality (VR) stations. The space includes leasable office areas and supports gameplay memberships, corporate team-building, esports camps, and technology-driven events. In addition, the Esports Park also houses Chimba Bowls, a student-run business that offers acai bowls and provides a unique and healthy dining option within the facility. Equipped with professional broadcast capabilities, the park hosts live esports tournaments, streams, and content creation, making it a premier destination for gaming and technology innovation on campus and throughout the Greater Indianapolis area.
