Steve Ellis Memorial Scholarship Fund

Steve Ellis Memorial Scholarship Fund The Scholarship was created by the FSU College of Communications in honor of Steve Ellis, a reporter who covered FSU sports for almost 30 years.

Steve was a graduate of Clemson University and a brother of http://www.clemsonpikes.com/. Steve ran cross country and loved all sports. In his honor this page "liked" most Clemson and FSU sports teams. He also wrote for the Orange and White while at Clemson. He was married to Karen, a graduate of The Florida State University. Karen is a sister of www.axofloridastate.com/.

It's amazing to me that Steve passed away 10 years ago today; time goes by so quickly. Life sometimes does not turn our as you expect. I was blessed to have Steve in my life and still miss him every day.

Steve was devoted to his craft and loved being a sportswriter. He covered Florida State Athletics for almost 30 years and was the guy whose stories were always a must-read. Football season brings back so many memories and this year thoughts of "What would Steve think about our program now" and "wonder who he thinks should be the next coach!"

When Steve died at just 54, FSU created the Steve Ellis Memorial Scholarship through the FSU College of Communication & Information. The scholarship is given annually to a Communication student with aspirations of being a writer. Steve loved to work with and mentor students interested in writing, so this is a wonderful honor to memorialize him.

We have been raising money throughout the last 10 years through various events and fundraiser to ensure this scholarship would be awarded each year to a deserving student. Providing any financial assistance can make a big impact in their lives.

For the 10 year anniversary of Steve's passing, we are hoping you will join us in donating a few dollars to ensure the scholarship fund will continue to provide monetary help to FSU students for years to come.

Donations can be made online through the FSU Foundation at:

Join us in honoring the 10-year anniversary of Steve's death by supporting the Steve Ellis Memorial Scholarship Fund. Your generosity will give the same opportunities that Steve provided to many aspiring reporters and editors for years to come!

Steve would have been 64 yesterday, time fly's by so quickly. We will be celebrating the 10 year Anniversary of his death in November. At the FSU Baseball game now and thinking about him. Baseball was his favorite sport and he would have loved to be here for Coach Martins last home series. Miss you ❤
