Held each fall on iRacing, the PRI Hoosier 500 brings the tradition and pageantry of the Memorial Day weekend classic to sim racing. Starting as a small news outlet covering INDYCAR in the early 2010s, Open-Wheels.com evolved into one of the premiere independent platforms for original and up-to-the-minute reporting on the NTT INDYCAR SERIES under Tanner Watkins. In 2019, the site hosted its first
edition of the Open-Wheels 500, successfully uniting the INDYCAR community on the iRacing platform to bring in more than 100 entrants from all around the world. As we move into 2025, the Open-Wheels 500 has rebranded as the Hoosier 500 - setting the stage for further growth as a landmark event in sim racing and the Indianapolis community.
