Ok everybody, seems like there's a decent amount of interest building. Start posting your team names and players so I can get a roster going and we'll start posting example photos of the different element balls and what-have-you.
In the meantime, for those who aren't familiar, the rules are as follows: 2 teams of three players each. A player can only throw one specific element each(3 players, 3 elements) and wears a headband to match the color. You can block any element with your element by deflecting either in hand or throwing. You can also deflect your own assigned element with your feet(for bonus kung fu action) or catch it (which does not cause the opponent thrower to move back a zone). When hit by an opponent's element the player moves back a zone. There are three zones on each half of the field(size will be decided as we get used to playing). When all 3 players on a team have moved back a zone the members of the opposing team advance one zone from where they are currently standing. If you are hit while standing in the final zone you are out for the rest of the round. I imagine we'll do best 2 out of 3 and have timed rounds counting advanced zones to decide the winner. I hope to set up matches as people feel like playing and can organize them (the more you play the better you'll be) and I'd like to do 2 matches back to back so that the players who are waiting to/done playing can ref and run(collecting balls that have left the zones)
I know other people play a little different(tennis balls and tupperware lids?) but I think the different style of balls we've made will take more skill to master making the games more interesting and less painful.
Feel free to ask questions obviously and make sure to point out any flaws or inconsistencies in my rules(or just let me know if my phrasing is confusing). I'll keep an ever updating version of the rules in the info for this page.
