πππ¨π«π² ππ²: πππππ πππππ / πππππππ πππππ ππππππ - ππππππππ, ππ - One name that many race fans throughout the Northeast are familiar with is Jessica Power.
Most notably known for her success in the DIRTcar Sportsman division, Jessicaβs career has been on an upward trajectory ever since she began racing in the mini-stock division back during the 2004 season.
The 2026 season presents a new opportunity for Jessica and the JPR team.
After making several scattered small block starts throughout the past few years in both the JPR #52 and the Jenik #35, Power will now be partnering up with Buzzell Racing out of Renfrew, ON this coming summer to run a 358 Modified on a part-time basis.
As of now, both sides are still working to compile an eight race schedule, which is the maximum number of events that they can participate in this season as Jessica will also still be a full-time DIRTcar Sportsman competitor.
If the part-time slate goes well, there is a possibility that the operation transitions to a full-time 358 Modified Small Block team for the 2027 season.
βIβm excited and thankful for this opportunity,β said Jessica. βI look forward to working with a great family and team this year.β
Buzzell Racing was originally formed in the 1970βs by Doug Buzzell Sr. After a brief hiatus, the team was reinstated in 2008 with Ryan Buzzell behind the wheel, and then Doug Buzzell Jr. was the most recent driver from 2010 up until this past season.
The Buzzell family made the difficult decision to step away from day to day racing operations for the 2026 season, primarily focusing on their business and family, but they still also wanted to stay involved in racing when they are available.
Conversation commenced between the two parties, and a deal was struck.
βWhen the idea came to step away from day to day operations, Jessica and her team were an easy choiceβ said co-owner Ryan Buzzell. βTheir commitment to excellence both on and off the track is second to none.β
A new car design for 2026 reflects a true teamwork effort between both teams.
The Buzzell Racing entry will be rebranded as the #58, which is a nod to Powerβs #52 car she has driven throughout the entirety of her career and the Buzzellβs #80 ride that they have campaigned in recent seasons.
The colors of the car feature Jessicaβs traditional black and orange, while also featuring the blue, black, and white colors that the Buzzell cars have displayed in previous years.
The effort between the sides will be supported by Pirie Insulation and Spray Foam, Mobil 1, Jenik Groupe, Eibach and Bilstein.
Marketing and sponsorship opportunities are still available for the newly formed partnership. If anybody is interested in coming aboard the operation, please feel free to reach out to the team's email address [email protected] or by messaging the Jessica Power Racing social media pages on Facebook, Instagram, or X/Twitter.
