What an amazing Labor Day weekend it was! ⛳️

First off, I want to give a massive THANK YOU to each and every player who showed up to compete at the 2026 French Lick Regional and made it such an incredible success. Without all 124 of you representing 24 Golfweek tours across the country, this event wouldn’t be possible!

Players tackled a true Championship venue shift—kicking off Round 1 on the historic par-70 layout and undulating greens of the Donald Ross Course before heading up to the dramatic hilltop views and severe slopes of the Pete Dye Course (par 72) for Round 2!

TOURNAMENT FLIGHT RECAPS & RESULTS
CHAMP FLIGHT: Defending champion David Wachter (Indianapolis) picked up right where he left off, using a solid opening-round 75 (+5) at the Ross course to grab the early lead over Josh Simmons and William Lewis (76s). Moving to the Dye Course for Round 2, Wachter showed incredible poise under pressure, matching Chris Pestka’s low round of the day (78) to post a 153 total and defend his title back-to-back!
Champ Flight Top Finishers:
David Wachter, Indianapolis, IN (75-78—153)
Chris Pestka, St. Louis, MO (77-78—155)
William Lewis, Eastern NC (76-80—156)
Alex Hoffman, Arkansas (77-80—157)
Jordan Calandro, St. Louis, MO (81-77—158)
Nick Reel, Indiana-Western KY (80-78—158)

A FLIGHT: Day 1 belonged to Jeremy Wilson (Indianapolis), who set the tournament pace with a unreal 3-over-par 73 at Ross—the lowest single-round score across the entire field! But Round 2 at the Dye layout became a test of pure endurance. Marcus Wirth (Michigan) brought the hammer down with a final-round 76 to capture the A Flight crown at 151 (+7)!
A Flight Top Finishers:
Marcus Wirth, Michigan (75-76—151)
Dana Shoulders, Columbus, OH (78-76—154)
Dean Campbell, Indianapolis, IN (80-77—157)
Tom Burlison, Columbus, OH (77-81—158)
Jeremy Wilson, Indianapolis, IN (73-85—158)
Jon Wendt, Indianapolis, IN (79-82—161)

B FLIGHT: Day 1 required precision on the Ross greens, where Bob Holz and Jesse Davis set the pace with solid 79s. But as the wind and slopes kicked up on Day 2 at Pete Dye, Jason Krich (Indianapolis) managed the test masterfully—posting an 85 to secure the B Flight trophy at 166!
B Flight Top Finishers:
Jason Krich, Indianapolis, IN (81-85—166)
Josh Maddox, Alabama (86-82—168)
Bryce Mozzone, Indianapolis, IN (81-87—168)

Dylan Lautanen, Nashville, TN (84-85—169)
Bob Holz, Cincinnati/Dayton (79-91—170)

C FLIGHT: A tight battle from the opening tee shot! Jae Lee and Aaron Lorenz shared the Day 1 lead at Ross with matching 87s. Moving to Dye on Day 2, Jae Lee (North Florida) kept his foot on the pedal, turning in a clutch 88 to claim the C Flight championship at 175!

Clint Carter, Kansas (91-91—182)
Tom Fitzsimmons, Tidewater, VA (90-92—182)

D FLIGHT: Corey Jones set the early baseline at Ross with an 87 on Day 1. However, the final round on the Dye course belonged entirely to Joseph Margherone (Michigan)! Margherone fired a flight-best 87 on Day 2 to storm into first place and take home the victory at 179!
D Flight Top Finishers:
Joseph Margherone, Michigan (92-87—179)

⛳️ Sultan’s Run Showdown Recap - Sep 5th! ⛳️

What a day at Sultan’s Run yesterday! This tournament was a joint event between our Indianapolis Tour and the Indiana-Western KY Tour, and we were thrilled to welcome players representing 16 different tours from across the country as we set the tone and built momentum for the French Lick Regional action ahead.

A massive thank you to all the players who came out to compete, and a big shoutout to the staff at Sultan’s Run Golf Club—the course was in phenomenal shape! Weather threw us a curveball with an early lightning delay, but everyone hung in there. Fading daylight ultimately forced us to halt play for the C and D flights after 14 holes, so those completed 14 holes were used to keep the competition fair and official.

Here is how the leaderboard stacked up across each flight:

Champ Flight
David Wachter from our Indianapolis Tour put on a masterclass performance by firing an impressive 3-under 69 to take home the top spot. He built a comfortable cushion over the rest of the field, with Kent George (Indiana-Western KY) and Joe Goldschmidt (Cincinnati/Dayton) finishing tied for second place after both posting solid rounds of 74.

A Flight
The A Flight delivered a tight contest at the top, where Brandon Kyong representing North Florida claimed victory with a strong round of 75. Dean Weathers (Indianapolis) and Chris Poetz (St. Louis) finished as runners-up, matching each other shot-for-shot to tie for second place with rounds of 80.

B Flight
In the B Flight, Rob McAvene held strong for the Indianapolis Tour to capture the win with a round of 78. He managed to hold off Rick Wigginton (Indiana-Western KY), who finished two strokes back in second place with an 80, while Bryce Mozzone (Indianapolis) secured third place with an 81.

C Flight
The C Flight saw Paxton Divine (Indiana-Western KY) navigate the shortened 14-hole format brilliantly, recording a 67 to claim first place. Aaron Lorenz (Tidewater) finished just one shot behind in second place with a 68, and Daniel VanMeter (St. Louis) rounded out the top three with a 69.

D Flight
In the D Flight, Fritz Gerbsch earned a victory for Indianapolis by carding a 72 across the 14 completed holes. Mike Miller (Milwaukee) locked up second place with a 75, while Danny Van meter (St. Louis) took third place after finishing with a 79.

Congratulations to all our flight winners and top finishers! Good luck to everyone competing in the rest of the Regional weekend.

What a weekend at Sandy Pines for the 2026 Indiana Cup! ⛳️

The Indianapolis Tour came up a bit short this year, falling 18.5 to 13.5 to a tough Indiana-WKY squad. Trailing 8.5 to 7.5 heading into Sunday, our guys fought hard in singles, but Indiana-WKY earned the win. Big congrats to Indiana-WKY on back-to-back titles! We’re already hungry to bring the Cup back in 2027.

Despite terrible weather forecasts, the rain held off and we completed all three rounds without a single delay.

Huge thanks to Lauren Williams, Director of Golf and the entire Sandy Pines staff! The course was in pristine shape, SP19 served up great food, and the hospitality was top-tier. Thanks to everyone who competed and made this event special!

Despite all the rain, Sandy Pines is in fantastic shape—a huge thanks to Lauren, the staff, and the members for having us!
