TKD Chung Do Kwan is a style of the traditional Korean martial art discipline of Tae Kwon Do. This is an “empty hand” style, meaning students do not use weapons. They train standing up using punches, kicks and blocks. Instruction focuses on teaching traditional kata or forms, which is a series of movements fighting an invisible opponent; and sparring, which is the demonstration of techniques while

fighting a real opponent. Sparring is done in protective gear. Students also learn self-­‐ defense. It is open to students age 4 and up. There is a belt system and rank testing in this discipline. Students may attend competition beginning at yellow belt, and are strongly encouraged to do so, but not required.
