Circle City Stealth Come Up Short Against Monarchs

Circle City Stealth lost to Monarchs 9-6 on Sunday at Larry Neidlinger Memorial Baseball Field.
Monarchs got on the board in the first inning after Nate Koontz hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Monarchs added one run in the third after Dalton Clarke doubled to center field.
Tyler Holt grounded out, which helped Circle City Stealth tie the game at two in the bottom of the fifth.
In the top of the sixth, Monarchs broke up the tie when Douglass homered to center field, scoring two runs. Then a hit by a pitch followed to extend the lead to 5-2.
Monarchs scored two runs in the top of the seventh on a home run to left field by Ryne Brown.
Mike Shadoan earned the win for Monarchs. The reliever allowed one hit and one run (zero earned) over one inning, striking out two and walking one. Sam Paddock took the loss for Circle City Stealth. The reliever went two-thirds of an inning, allowing three runs on one hit, striking out one and walking three. Holt started the game for Circle City Stealth. The pitcher surrendered three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Brown began the game for Monarchs. The hurler surrendered one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking one.
Circle City Stealth amassed 10 hits in the game. Daniel Campbell, Holt, and Adam Wheaton each collected two hits for Circle City Stealth. Chad Justice, TJ Agnew, and Holt each drove in one run for Circle City Stealth. Nathanial Steenblock paced Circle City Stealth with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game.
Combining for players of the game this week are Tyler Holt and Adam Wheaton. Both pitchers had great first outings for a combined 5 innings. As well as anchoring the offense with each recording a multi-hit game!
