We had a great time on the water yesterday with SAV Watcher volunteers, supporting citizen science at Mallows Bay!

The Chesapeake Bay Program SAV watchers showed us how to survey submerged aquatic vegetation, helping us better understand and protect the health of our waterways.

We identified 8 different species of SAV right here in Mallows Bay! We’re excited to keep exploring and learning about the science that helps protect this amazing ecosystem!
