Dried fruit. Good choice or bad choice? Well, it depends. So fruit does have sugar in it. However, rhe sugar isn't the same as the kind in candy bars and cereals. However, when you dry the fruit, you remove most of its water and then your left with a concentrated amount of sugar and a smaller form, which can lead to eating more of the dried fruit. In addition, some of the dried fruits you buy has added sugars you need to look out for. Sondried fruit has more sugar per volume than fresh fruit, however, it also has more fiber which is a good thing (especially for older adukts) who start eating less as they age. Finally, dried fruit will keep some of its nutrients but will lose some due to the drying process (like vitamin C). Dried fruit will be shelf stable and convenient and you can use dried fruit instead of table sugar as a sweetener in other foods. So just use caution you don't eat too much of it, but it's definitely a good choice in most cases.
