As we wrap up another season, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on where we started and how far we’ve come.
Last year, we won our league, but we didn’t make a single tournament final. This year was a completely different story. From futsal season through the spring and tournament season, this group competed at a high level and found success almost everywhere we went.

My competitive side always wants to win everything. Every coach wants to lift the trophy at the end of every event. But when I step back and look at the bigger picture, I'm more than okay with how this season turned out.
Our goal wasn't just to win games. Our goal was development.
And I can say without hesitation that every single girl on this team improved.
Every player got better technically. Every player grew tactically. Every player became more confident. They learned new positions, adapted to different formations, handled adversity, and continued to compete against strong opponents week after week.
What makes me most proud is the work that happened when nobody was watching. Extra training sessions. Personal lessons. Additional touches on the ball. Running on their own. Asking questions. Wanting more.
You can't always control results, but you can control effort, attitude, and commitment to improvement. This group brought those qualities every season.
The trophies and medals are great, but those aren't what matter most. The real win is seeing players become better soccer players and better teammates than they were a year ago.
Looking back, we went from a team that won a league title but couldn't quite break through in tournaments, to a team that consistently put itself in championship matches and competed with anyone we faced. We started by winning futsal, carried that momentum into the outdoor season, and continued putting ourselves in position to compete for championships all year long.
That's growth.
Thank you to all of the players for buying into what we're building. Thank you to the parents for your support, trust, and countless hours spent on the sidelines, in the car, and at training.
The future is bright for this group, and we're far from finished.
Time for a little rest, some 5v5, and then we'll get back to 11v11.
Thanks again for having great kids and thanks for being great parents and grandparents...
⚽❤️
