Heatwave Defeats KCYS Wildcats - Heeger In High-Scoring Affair

Both Heatwave and KCYS Wildcats - Heeger had their offenses going on Thursday at Kenton County Youth Sports Complex, but Heatwave eventually prevailed 20-12. Heatwave collected 10 hits, while KCYS Wildcats - Heeger had 15.
Heatwave opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to four walks. Heatwave first got on the board when Noah D drew a walk, scoring one run.
Heatwave extended their early lead with four runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by Hudson F, Ben J, Kaden S, and JJ M.
Heatwave extended their early lead with four runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI singles by Daniel M, Hudson, and Ben.
Hudson earned the win for Heatwave. The starter surrendered 11 hits and nine runs over three and one-third innings, striking out five and walking two. Peyton P opened the game for KCYS Wildcats - Heeger. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and four runs over one-third of an inning, striking out one and walking seven. Gavin W and JJ each appeared in relief for Heatwave.
Heatwave accumulated 10 hits in the game. Ben led Heatwave with three hits in four at bats. Hudson collected two hits for Heatwave in two at bats. Heatwave had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 21 walks for the game. Kaden and Landon G led the team with three free passes each. Jaycob D, Daniel, Jack H, Hudson, and Landon each stole multiple bases for Heatwave. Heatwave ran wild on the base paths, amassing 18 stolen bases for the game. Heatwave turned one double play in the game.
KCYS Wildcats - Heeger amassed 15 hits in the game. Peyton provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led KCYS Wildcats - Heeger with five runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 4-for-4 on the day. Andrew L, Maddox M, Brody R, and Rylan F each collected multiple hits for KCYS Wildcats - Heeger. Peyton, Andrew, Maddox, Elijah N, Brody, and Jaxson C each stole multiple bases for KCYS Wildcats - Heeger. KCYS Wildcats - Heeger stole 15 bases in the game.
