Nevada State parks is seeking public input about the Spooner Lake Backcountry. This year is a stark example of how fragmented the trail system is at the park with the closure of the North Canyon road and the south half of the Marlette Flume as well as the Red House flume on the east side of the park. If youโd like to see trails built that would keep the back country completely open no matter what construction/maintenance work need of the dirt roads in the park, now is the chance to let your voice be heard.
Join the public workshop:
๐
Thursday, July 17
๐ 5:30 PM โ 7:00 PM
๐ Spooner Lake Visitor Center
At the workshop, park staff will share updates about the master plan, answer your questions, and ask for your ideas to help shape the park's future. You'll get to chat with planners, share your vision, and explore interactive materials to voice your thoughts.
Spooner Lake welcomes around 100,000 visitors each year. With 12,000+ acres, 60+ miles of trails, historic sites, and wildlife habitat, the goal is to find the right balance between recreation and preservation.
