Explosiveness is the most common term used when describing a high level athlete. There are different levels of explosiveness, and it is these that separate one athlete from another. When a college coach or professional scout is observing an athlete, “explosiveness” is what they are looking for. A general way to describe explosiveness is the ability to reach maximum power and strength in the shorte

st amount of time. Examples of this are seen when an athlete accelerates, changes direction, jumps, or has to perform any action with great force. Genetics play a small role in this, but any athlete can become more explosive with proper training, and few ever reach their full potential, mainly due to the fact that they do not know how. The only way to become explosive is to train explosive, this is what is done at ESS. Knowing how and what training techniques to implement is the key to becoming an explosive athlete.

Our Story

Explosive Strength and Speed was born from a guy with a dream. A dream to become a professional athlete. A prayer that was not answered in the way he originally hoped, but instead inspired the guy to reach incredible personal fitness and athletic goals and to help others to do the same, maybe even to reach the original dream of being a pro. While statistics show that is highly unlikely for most athletes, it is the dream that pushes us to work to our full potential. To become the strongest. The fastest. The most agile. The most EXPLOSIVE. For some of us, that may just be enough to get us into our ideal jean size or to bare our abs in a bathing suit. For others, it may be the strength we need to protect our backs and lift with more ease as we go through the movements of our daily life- as mothers, as busy professionals, as grandparents, as adults who want to lead active lives. For our kids, its gaining that competitive edge and inspiring the confidence in their minds and bodies to develop their full potential as athletes and even more importantly, as people with a positive image and growth mindset.

Justin Smith is that guy. He got his degree in Exercise Science and sought the best certification out there as a Certified Strength Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He brings 15 years of experience as a trainer where he has worked with athletes and individuals of all ages and all levels. Justin is famous for training entire families and maintaining clients for many many years.
