I’ve been wondering all week how to write this. If you’ve EVER ran the Bone and Back Relay, I would encourage you to read this…

Sunday night we lost a giant in our community. Dr. Stan Griffiths was not only a renowned doctor, not only my uncle, but he was the CREATOR of the Bone and Back Relay! He and his staff at Summit Orthopedics put on the event for 25 years before he called me up 11 years ago and asked if I wanted to take it over. I was so grateful he thought of me and entrusted me with the legacy of the Bone Race.

I am forever grateful for this event! In 2009 I met who would soon be my wife! So when he asked me to take it over, I was all to happy!

Stan was the kind of man who told you how it was, never sugar-coated anything! He was serious, but was all for going on a great adventure!

Our hearts go out to his family in this hard time. We love you! Thanks for letting us be better because of the hard things he made us do (especially if you’ve ever ran Leg 2!)

We hope our Bone Race will continue to live up to Stan’s standards! We will will always strive to make his legacy proud!

When we took over this event 11 years ago we wanted to create an image, an icon. Our goal was to have a logo and make it recognizable for all, just like Ragnar. This resulted in our BB logo, which we have LOVED!! However, this year, for our 36th Annual event, we decided to change up the design of the shirt! The “BB” is still on our shirts, just smaller this year and on the back.

We hope you love this year’s design!
