After more than four decades of dedicated service, Bob Krause, Market President of South Story Bank & Trustβs Slater location, is retiring, marking the close of a remarkable 42+ year career in community banking and civic leadership.
Krause has been a cornerstone of South Story Bank & Trust and the Slater community, building lasting relationships with customers, business owners, and colleagues while helping guide generations of family farms toward financial stability and growth. His tenure reflects not only professional excellence but also a deep commitment to the people and communities he served.
Throughout his career, Krause played a key role in the bankβs growth and long-term success, earning a reputation for integrity, steady leadership and a customer-first approach.
Beyond the bank, Krause is widely recognized as a community advocate and local leader. He has been actively involved in civic organizations, local initiatives, and community development efforts, generously giving his time and expertise to support Ballard Schools, nonprofits, local farmers and economic growth in the region. His leadership has had a lasting impact well beyond the walls of the bank.
As Krause steps into retirement, he leaves behind a strong foundation and a culture rooted in service and community connection. He plans to enjoy more time with family and friends and remain connected to the community he has long supported.
