The MSM Southern Showdown starts this Friday at 10am. Signups will be at the track or online at https://msmvlog.com/products/2026msmssthornhill You must be signed up before practicing.
Here is the answer to a bunch of your questions about the race: We will not be saving or reserve any pit, rv, pit trailer, or ezup spots. If you are wanting to save any of those spots for someone you are welcome to do so starting Thursday. There is no charge for any spots for this race, first come first serve. Signups are at the track, food will be available all days. RV’s and pit trailers must provide their own power. More details on all this below.

SCHEDULE:
Friday, June 5th - Practice from 10am to 8pm
Saturday June 6th - Practice 8am-9am(only for those that did not run an Friday), Drivers Meeting at 9:30am, Qualifying at 10am
Sunday, June 7th - Mains at 9:00am(we lineup in qualifying order on the ramp for mains)

**Very Important: RV’s and Pit Trailers will need to provide your own power. No hookups available at the track. Fresh water is available to fill tanks but that is it. If you are caught plugging into track power to run an air conditioner or air compressor you will be asked to leave. RV and Pit Trailers locations are first come first serve. You must park in the grass, we have about 10 acres available for this so plenty of room. No fees for RV/pit trailer parking. Also no fees for camping.
If you like to use a heat gun to warm up your motor or tires please use a battery powered one. Heat guns that plug in will only be allowed at the nitro warmup tables. Best to get a battery powered one, they are very handy to have. Also no odor producing tire sauce is allowed in the air conditioned pit space.

Because of schedule conflicts from graduations and needing to get the track ready for the MSM race we will be closed this weekend.

We are club racing this Saturday May 23rd starting at 2pm. If it’s raining we will be running the track wet. If not it’s to hard to keep it wet when it gets warm.

Schedule for the week is:

Friday:(practice $20)
3:00pm Track and hobby shop open
8:00pm Track and hobby shop close

Saturday:(racing $30/$20)
10:00am Track and hobby shop open
1:30pm practice ends
2pm Racing Starts

Next big race for Thornhill. It will be the same layout as the lonestar, maybe a couple changes but it will be prepped the same as the lonestar which is the same as it will be for worlds. I hear a few pros might come. Should be a good one.

The Lonestar CHALLENGE is finally over. Two extra open practice days finally ends it. I think one thing that most everyone can agree about is that it was CHALLENGING. Over the 6 days of running 37,413 laps were turned on the track. 20 of the world’s top 25 drivers ran on it, most all 6 days. Here is some photos of the track after all those laps. Also I included a picture of the additives that we put in the water when we prep the track. No glue or sugar is used on the track. Just one to help retain water and the other to control dust. Our dirt is not all clay, it breaks apart easily when water is applied and a skid steer digs it up. Thornhill is a unique experience and most of the world now realizes that. The worlds will be an exciting time.
