“I am going to work on my nutrition after I get a good workout routine.” “Once I see improvement in the gym, then I’ll start focusing on my “diet”.”

Have you said this before? Not only have I heard this before, but I once had this same mindset. Thinking that workout routine is going to influence nutrition choices. It is actually the other way around. Nutrition is the “heavy lifter” and fitness is the fine tuning. Think of it like superheroes Batman and Robin. Batman was very much capable of defeating villains without Robin’s assistance, but Robin appeared in times when Batman really needed it.

Nutrition can accomplish physical changes that we desire without working out, however there will be a time where working out will have to enter the equation.

Do this to overcome the problem: Thinking of food on an energy spectrum. Foods with higher energy (calories dense) lack necessary nutrients. Foods with lower energy (nutrient dense) contain nutrients that promote a healthy and active lifestyle.

Start consciously thinking about your food consumption. Ask yourself these questions, is it nutrient or calorie dense and does it line up with your goals?

Why you should do this:
👊 Change what you put inside your body to influence your performance and outside appearance

What it leads to:
👊 Builds confidence & consistency
👊 Less stress surrounding food choices

I truly believe that many people want to make changes to their nutrition, but get lost with all the information that is available. They want no BS advice on nutrition and fitness so they can focus on their jobs and their families.

If that’s you and you want to learn more about how thinking along a spectrum can help you reach your goals, comment “SPECTRUM”.

Weight loss, more specifically fat loss seems to be everyone’s goal. Even with all the different hacks and cleanses that appear everyday, weight loss all comes down to an energy balance. Less calories in, more calories out = weight loss.

Many people result to cutting out an entire macronutrient (protein, carbs or fat) or they get so overwhelmed with information.

There is a solution and I want to share 4 different tips that you can use today to thrive in caloric deficit:

* Add vegetables to every meal and snacks. They are a great way to add volume to your meals without adding a higher number of calories.

* Prep and plan your meals accordingly

* Eating slowly. This gives your nervous system to catch up with food that is coming in and creates awareness of food intake.

*Use hand size portions. Hand size is proportionate to YOU and requires minimal counting.

Many successful professionals and parents struggle to juggle the competing demands of life. They want straight forward, helpful advice on nutrition and fitness so they can focus on their jobs and their families.

If that’s you and you want to learn more about how create a healthy caloric deficit and reach your goals, DM me “DEFICIT”.

Happy Wednesday everyone. Had to put my glasses on for this one 🤓🤓

Did you know that water is essential in having a good metabolism? Drinking water makes processes in our body work better.

Drinking adequate amounts of water can also trigger the release of stored body fat and also increase metabolic rate.

Have you ever considered why it was important to drink water when you first wake up??

🚰Your body is hard at work even when you sleep. Repairing damage tissue, building up the immune system, getting rid of old cells and much more. Drinking water will help flush these out of the body preventing a slow down in your metabolism.

🚰Water in the morning will turn your metabolic systems into "ON" position and gives you an opportunity to get a good amount of hydration in.

💎Keep two bottles of water bedside ready for you in the 🌄🌅🌄🌅

This is a question that I hear daily. Our bodies are great at telling us if we are hydrated enough.

A good baseline for water consumption is to take your weight and divide it in half.

For example, if you weight 180lb then 90oz of water would be your intake for the day. For weight 200+, I would recommend 100oz as a baseline. Physical activity among other things is going to factor into water consumption, but I like this as an easy place to start.

What a difference 3 years of makes. I didn't realize at the time that I would end up being my "first" nutrition client.

I am not at my end goal just, but I am nowehere close to what I used to be and I am grateful.

Let me share a few things that worked for me:

1. Changed my mindset about food. Food became fuel and not just something to keep me occupied or make me feel better.

2. I finally excepted that achieving my physical appearance was going to take time. Nobody gains 10 lbs in one day and you cant expect to lose 10 lbs in one day. Patience and consistency always pay off.

3. Speaking of consistency, showing up everyday is vital. On days that I didn't want to be active, I did what I could. I found an activity that I liked and I put in the work. On days that I didn't want to keep up with my nutrition, I did what I could. As time went on, I became more mindful of what I was eating on a daily basis.

If you are looking to lose more than 50 lbs or if you want to know more about nutrition and how to create a healthier lifestyle, DM me or visit the link in the bio..

😀😀😀 Happy 🐫 Day....

Whole foods... Extremely beneficial but widely overlooked and not consumed enough. Just my opinion.....😢

I encourage my clients to focus more on adding whole foods to their daily nutrition versus focusing on what they are taking away.

Whole foods are best described as foods that are as close as possible to their origins.

Adding more whole foods can be beneficial and effective for not only weight loss, but also creating a positive, weight loss mindset. Let's take a look at a few of their benefits:

➡ They help add volume and create an "abundance mentality". This helps lessen the feeling of deprivation.

➡ Whole foods improve nutrient quality. These foods promote a healthy lifestyle by providing nutrients in a structure that is the most effective way for the body to use them.

➡ They organically help reduce process food intake.

➡ Whole foods respond to fullness and hunger cues better.

Hopefully, this helps you on your nutrition journey. For more guidance or if you are interested in nutrition coaching or meal guidance, DM me or visit the link in my bio.
