FALL is the new NEW YEAR.

I honestly feel FALL is the best time of year for new habits, new routines, and a strong plan.

Whether it’s adding workouts into your schedule, making healthier meals regularly, or starting a mindset plan into your day, new habits CAN and will help you achieve better overall wellness.

Not sure where to start? Here’s 3 simple tips to follow to have success:

1) START SMALL: if working out is a routine you want in your life, start with 2-3 days per week. Once you’ve mastered that, add on. Thinking you can go successfully from 0 days to 5+ days is unrealistic.

2) Make a weekly meal plan. I like to sit down on Saturday or Sunday morning, get out the cookbooks or Pinterest inspo boards and plan 3-4 meals for the week. I go online, pick out my items for grocery pickup, and have everything set to go by Sunday night. Having a plan for the week makes everything go much smoother.

3) Give up a little online time, TV, or even plan to wake 1/2 hour earlier (or go to bed 1/2 hour later) to READ. If you’re a commuter, listen to an audiobook! Filling you mind with good development content will help you stay focused on achieving what you’ve set out to do.

Bonus tip: get good sleep (6-8 hours). Sleep is SO good for you & will impact all the things above.

Let me know if you implement any of these tips!

It’s hard; being a mom, working, exercising, cleaning, cooking, leading, guiding, teaching, ALL THE THINGS.

Through all this, there are things we can do to add ease. Just even a little exercise, attention to our diet, and simple additions to our day can make it easier.

All you mommas craving better health, I see you. In the midst of the crazy, this is something you can have. Something you SHOULD have. You deserve it 💜

3 different phases of life, with 3 completely different goals.

Bottom photos: build muscle, lift heavy, workout 5+ days a week

Middle photos: grow a human, stay mentally & physically fit during a pandemic, exercise & eat healthy to help with delivery & postpartum recovery

Top photos: eat healthy so I can breastfeed my new baby girl, exercise to improve mental health, give myself grace in my “new” postpartum body.

Just submitted after photos for my 11th challenge. Each has been different, each has its own set of challenges, each has been rewarded, and each has been worth it.

So grateful for and the tools, support, and community that helps me through each phase.

Last night the sweat was REAL after a Spin & Strength set I taught at

If ya’ll remember, back on September 2nd I went to my first class post baby & almost had to leave the room because I felt like it was the first time I ever worked out & I wanted to cry. I went to my car & I did cry - and I did it on IG for everyone to see.

But you know what? I went back to class & back to the gym....again, again, and again.

I worked (and AM STILL WORKING) through the hard.

Is my body where I want it to be? A part of me is like, “no, you’re still carrying around 10% extra body fat, your tummy is flabby as all heck, and you’ll never be as strong as you were) ...a recent body scan actually told me I have 10% more body fat than I did before baby. 10%?!?

But another part of me (the part I’m really trying to listen to) says “absolutely, momma....you’re eating good, you’re nursing a baby, you’re moving your body, and you’re good....you’re soooo good”.

Don’t give up when it’s hard, friends. It’s not designed to be easy. We gain even more strength powering through these tough moments.

I can’t even imagine what I’d be like had I said “f it, fitness just isn’t for me anymore”.

Have you quit something because it was difficult? Is there something you should circle back to?

I was obviously a much younger mom when I had Reese, which makes me a “cool mom” now. I wonder if I’ll still be cool when Ellie is 12 🤣

CLIENT SUCCESS

Kathy basically slapped the quarantine 15 in the face and instead LOST 10 pounds and 7.5 inches since February. How did she do it?

💥 she stayed consistent with her diet; regularly cleansed her body, and kicked her Diet Coke habit
💥 she regularly worked out (we converted her sessions virtually while the gym was shut down) she biked, hiked, and made exercise a priority

💥 she is determined; she intentionally makes choices ((on the daily)) that support a healthy lifestyle. This way she can REALLY show up in life.

Kathy - you are a breath of fresh air & I love working with you 💕 You should be SO PROUD of your success.

PS - check out those triceps 💪🏼

ASSESSING YOUR PROGRESS

HOW TO:
Ask yourself; How do I feel today?
Did I make healthy food choices?
What do I say to myself when I looked in the mirror?
Did I move my body?
Did I speak to myself like I would speak to my daughter, my best friend, or my sister?
Did I do things that make be better?

How NOT to: step on scale, let number on scale dictate mood.

Ex: body is happy upon waking, feels great, body steps on scale, number wasn’t “right”, body steps off scale, body is now unhappy BECAUSE OF A NUMBER. Body then feels shame, maybe binge eats some crap because things aren’t working, is sad, feels unworthy, and tries to hate itself to healthy?

It doesn’t even make sense.

You define you. Your actions define you. Your relationship with the God that created you beautifully defines you.

TWO MONTHS!

We’re a day late ...because, well...newborn life.

Miss Ellie: you’re sweet & sassy, you love your swing, the changing table, and daily walks! You smile & try so hard to talk, even though the sounds don’t always out yet. You don’t always love nap time, but you do know your day’s from nights, which is a blessing.

We love you, Ellie girl.

Swipe to see where her bear came from 💜💜💜

One of us is smiling, the other is not 😃 😐

While I’m not educated enough to know if a mask is really helping, I am doing my best to be a good citizen.

My point is, SMILE. You can still brighten someone’s day with your eyes 🤩

PS - she was just annoyed at me taking a picture at Menards, my girl is usually happy 😆

No pose, no flex, NO SHAME.

Meet my body 😊

I’m 35, have the most beautiful baby girl that I just grew inside me for 9 months, have a gorgeous 12 year old that I also grew inside me, I nourish my body, I exercise because it makes me feel good, I love being healthy, and I’m SO OVER the need for perfectly posed picture or a number on the scale to feel good about my progress. I’ve decided to and make my post baby goals around and how I feel, respond, and act with my family.

How do you determine your progress?

And please, WHO’S WITH ME?
