Every year, as recital season comes to an end and a new dance season begins, I find myself reflecting on the many children and families who have walked through our doors.
Some arrive as shy little ones, hiding behind a parent's leg, unsure of what awaits them. Some come bursting through the door with endless energy and big dreams. Some stay for a season. Some stay for a decade. Some leave and return years later. And some continue their journey elsewhere.
Over the years, I've learned something important: not every dancer is meant to stay forever, and that's okay.
When families choose a different path, it would be easy to focus on the goodbye. Instead, I choose to focus on the privilege.
The privilege of watching a child master a skill they once thought impossible.
The privilege of celebrating victories both on and off the stage.
The privilege of sharing laughter, tears, friendships, life lessons, and countless memories.
Every dancer who has spent time with us has helped shape the story of our studio. Whether you danced with us for one class, one season, or many years, you have left footprints that remain long after the music ends.
As children grow, they change. Their interests evolve. They seek new experiences, new challenges, and sometimes new places to continue their journey. That exploration is a beautiful part of growing up, and we would never want a family to feel guilty for following the path that feels right for them.
Our hearts are big enough to be grateful for the time we shared and supportive of wherever life takes you next.
Because at the end of the day, dance is about more than steps, trophies, costumes, or performances. It's about helping young people discover confidence, resilience, creativity, and joy. If we played even a small role in that journey, then we have been blessed.
To every family who has ever called Kelly's Dance Academy home, whether you're still dancing beside us or your path has led elsewhere

WOW! What an incredible evening at our very first FREE dance class at Christ the King Church!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the 40+ children and families who joined us. Seeing so many little faces walk through the doors—some excited, some curious, and yes, a few a little nervous—was such a joy. What made the evening so special was watching those same children leave with smiles, confidence, laughter, and excitement about dancing.

To all of the parents, thank you for giving your children the opportunity to try something new. It takes a little courage to step into an unfamiliar environment, and you were wise enough to let them dip their toes into the wonderful world of dance, movement, creativity, and friendship. Experiences like these can spark confidence, imagination, and a lifelong love of the arts.

We also appreciate your patience as we organized a room full of energetic little dancers of many different ages and personalities. Managing that much enthusiasm is no small feat, but it was absolutely worth every minute!

A special thank you goes out to Meg McCormick, Mackenzie Smith, Kylie Johnson, and Ella Hansen for helping keep the fun moving and assisting with our wonderful group of dancers. Your energy, kindness, and leadership made the evening run smoothly.

Last night was about more than dance steps—it was about building confidence, making connections, trying new things, and having fun together. We feel incredibly blessed to have shared that experience with all of you.

Thank you for making our first FREE class such a success. We can't wait to dance with many of you again at the remainder of our FREE classes this summer! ❤️🩰✨

June 9th-August 13th!

How blessed am I to have so many students, teachers and parents succeed! This last weekend KDA attended BravO! National Dance competition and achieved remarkable results! Classes from 2nd grade up to Dad's won a total of 9 High Gold, 22 Elite High Gold and 2 Platinum adjudication awards, 5 judge's choice performance awards, and 2 Judges Voice Top Choreographer awards, 1 for Ms. Meg and 1 for Ms. Kelly! Costume award for Best Overall Costume. Thank you Susie for your talent and time.
Thank you so much to all our parents for supporting your kids on this journey as it's been 9 months in the making, a lot of hard work, a lot of transportation to and from dance lessons, not to mention the cost of everything! None of us could do this without you!!

Thank you to my teachers Meg McCormick, Marissa Johnson, and Rachel Millerbernd for your creativity and instruction to make these kids look and feel like winners!

I am so proud of all of you and of our KDA family!!!
