We were first up on course after starting last on Day 1. It had been raining, and was still sprinkling a bit when we started. We were nervous about the blue gate, but surprised ourselves by making it through on the first try, while also hitting the passenger cone. We hit a cone going through Gate 1, but got through Gate 2 clean. We hit another cone trying to shoot the wall at Gate 3. With under two minutes left, we lined up for Gate 4 but got the tires in a bad spot and rolled for the second time this weekend landing us right in front of the exit gate. We ended this course with a score of 20.

A4

Starting this course we slipped into the passenger cone at Gate 1. Got through Gates 2 & 3 clean with one reverse, but timed out while lining up for the blue gate. We ended this course with a score of 34.

A1

We started this course clipping a cone on the passenger side of the blue gate and again on Gate 1. We made it through Gate 2 clean, but timed out going through Gate 3. We ended the course with another score of 34.

A2

We started this course getting through Gate 1 clean. After, we hit the passenger cones at Gates 2 & 3, then lined up to back down through the blue gate and Gate 4. We were looking good until the front end bounced just enough to hit the passenger cone on Gate 4. We got out of the exit gate ending the course with a score of 16.

We ended Day 2 with a score of 104, putting us at an Event Total of 81 heading into the Shoot Out!

We started the weekend off strong with this first course. We made it through all four regular gates plus the bonus at Gate 5 without hitting any cones and no reverses. Starting the weekend with a score of -25.

A4

This course went even better than our first course. We cleared both bonuses at Gate 1 and the blue gate without any trouble. Getting over to Gate 2 took up some time, but we only needed to take one reverse. After clearing it, we had four minutes left and got through Gates 3 and 4 clean without hitting any cones. We ended the course with a score of -34.

A1

This course was going great, until it wasn’t. We got through Gates 1 through 3 clean without hitting any cones or taking any reverses. But at Gate 4, we clipped the driver-side cone. Lining up for the blue gate, I didn’t swing wide enough and ended up a little sidehill on a rock. I thought it would go over fine, but the weight transfer had me rolling over and although I tried to drive out of it that’s where we had to end the course. We ended up with a score of 30 for this course.

A2

Our last course of the day. We started off clean through Gate 1, but ended up three-tiring through the blue gate and took out the passenger cone. We also clipped the right cone on Gate 2. Gates 3 and 4 went smoothly, with two minutes remaining when we were lining up to go through Gate 4. We ended the course with a score of 6.

Ending Day 1 with a score of -23!

🏁 Day 2 Recap - Part 2

This course felt like a turning point. Everything finally came together and this ended up being our best course of the weekend yet. We got through the blue gate and Gate 1 clean and made great time doing it. With five minutes still left, we backed down Gates 2 and 3 smooth and controlled. We didn’t hit any cones and only needed two reverses the entire course. We got through the finish gate with no problem and still had 2:40 left on the clock. We tied for best score on the course with a -13, and that felt great after the rough morning.

We finished the weekend strong. After getting through Gate 1, we three-tired it through the regular blue gate. We lined up for the Gate 2 bonus and made it through clean at a solid pace. With five minutes left, we got through Gates 3 and 4 clean, and got out the finish gate with time to spare. This was our best score of the weekend, a -14 and we tied for best score on this course as well!

Even though our morning didn’t go as planned and we didn’t make it into the shoot-out, we finished the weekend on a high note with a final score of 10 and 5th place overall. We’re making progress each comp, and we’re proud of how far we’ve come.

We started the day with A2, and right away we knew this wasn’t going to be an easy one. The first gate, which was a regular blue gate, took us way too long to get through. Once we finally made it past, we only had 6:30 left on the clock and had already clipped a cone. At that point, we pretty much knew we were sitting in 5th place and possibly wouldn’t be able to qualify for the shoot-out. We took another cone going through Gate 1 (which was also tough for us), but managed to drop Gate 2 clean and made it through Gate 3 without a problem. We kept pushing and got through the next two gates clean as well, but ended up timing out less than a foot from the exit. We ended the course with a score of 25.

This one was another frustrating course for us. We decided to go for the bonus gate right off the bat, but it ate up way too much time and we ended up hitting the bonus cone. We backed out and went through the regular gate instead. We only hit one cone on this course, but had to take five reverses—pretty sure all of them were on Gate 1 alone. After getting through that gate, we still had five minutes left and four more gates to clear. We made it through Gate 2 clean and got lined up to back down the blue bonus before Gate 3, but again we ran out of time while lining up for Gate 3 after the bonus drop. Ending the course with a score of 24.

W.E. Rock Western Series Round 2 Day 1 Recap

We started off the weekend with our first course being A2. Starting first in our group, we didn’t have anyone to watch beforehand, but we thought we had a pretty good game plan set out for us. We got to the first gate and we struggled for a few minutes to get through it, but eventually we made it through the gate with five minutes to spare. we were able to maneuver through the rest of the course at a moderate pace. We ended up finishing the course with only 10 seconds left to spare. We hit zero cones this course and ended with a score of -10.

Our next course was A3. we started off pretty good trying to get through the first gate but we clipped a cone. we were getting through the next few gates and while maneuvering between gates we didnt realize i was still in front only and we dragged the car into a cone. my cons were falling off and that was distracting me a bit. we took so much time maneuvering between gate two and the blue gate that we only had one minute left when we got to gate three. we ended up finishing the course with five seconds left, we hit two cones and had a score of 7.

starting this course we got through gate one clean and we followed that through gate two but we ended up taking the passenger cone going through gate three. after that we got through gate 4 clean and with 2 minutes and thirty seconds left. we dropped the blue gate clean with a minute left and got to the finish gate with no problem. we ended the course hitting one cone and a score of -5.

we got through the first three gate with ease only needing to take one back up between gates 2 and 3. we made it to the blue gate however when going through the gate the car died after the front tires went through. i didn’t put it in neutral so when i fired it back up it launched and the way the rear was turned passenger the back of the tire clipped the cone. pretty frustrating lol. we got through gate 4 without a problem and we worked our way around to the exit gate and finished in time with just under a minute left. we hit one cone this course and we finished with a score of -4. ending the day in fourth place.
