👮‍♀️One Week Away!👨‍🚒
Our annual Sensory Friendly First Responder Meet and Greet hosted by Hurricane Police Department and Hurricane Fire & Rescue is coming up on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
This event will take place at the Hurricane Fire Station located at 1 Rescue Way Hurricane, WV (just off Midland Trail). It is designed to allow families with special needs and first responders to meet one another in a sensory-friendly, low-key environment. There will also be representatives in attendance from EMS along with other non-profits focused on increasing education and providing advocacy for children and youth on the autism spectrum. Stop by anytime between 6:00 and 7:30!

Looking for a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for all abilities? JCPenney Beauty & Salon is hosting a sensory-friendly event designed with comfort, inclusion, and fun in mind.

🎉 What to expect:
A calmer environment with reduced noise and lighting
Staff trained to support sensory needs
Activities everyone can enjoy at their own pace

Don't forget! Our annual First Responder Meet and Greet is coming up TOMORROW, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 6-7:30 pm at the Hurricane Fire & Rescue station. Any families who would like to have a sensory-friendly meet and greet with police from the Hurricane Police Department, Hurricane Fire & Rescue firefighters, EMTs and more are invited! We'll also have great information available from some wonderful community partners. Come by anytime between 6:00 and 7:30 at your convenience!
