North Alabama Bass Club Private This site is intended for active members of North Alabama Bass Club. The North Alabama Bass Club was established in 1971.

Although originally formed in Athens, the club relocated to Huntsville, later in 1971. For over 40 years, NABC has been filling a position in our fishing community providing friendly fishing competition without being affiliated with any major bass fishing organization. The club welcomes both boaters and non-boaters that are at least 18 years old. The tournaments are draw tournaments where boaters

and non-boaters are paired at a meeting prior to the monthly fish-off (held the second Saturday of each month). The paired member’s fish as a team - the combined weight of the team determines placement - and individual weights are recorded for end-of-year awards and honors.

Saturday we started our 2025-2026 tournament season at Smith Lake on a beautiful day which was better for sun-tanning than fishing for most of us. We welcome back Jeff Gray and new member Mike Griffin to our North Alabama Bass Club in our 54th year of service to North Alabama. In the transition to the new year, we look forward to the banquet to close out last year and the advent of the upcoming year. We are blessed with several inactive members planning to join us again, and encouraged with several young men who recently joined. This club offers a wealth of knowledge for the aspiring young fishermen from some of the most experienced top-notch fishermen in Alabama. We count on these young men to carry the NABC torch for the next 54 years.

Hey guys! What is everyone using for fish attracting on your baits? Thump Gel? Bang? WD-40? Any help would be appreciated. We are heading to Smith Lake for our first ever night Tournament in August. Should be a good tournament. Tight Lines!

A guy got stuck by lighting today on Lake Guntersville. He was fishing in Honeycomb by the bluffs. Lighting struck his rod. Ran thru his body. Blew off one of his hands. Blew his shoes off. Bust the bottoms of his feet. Bilge was pumping out water and blood. Guy was taken to UAB. I have Jonathn in contact with the eye witness that my information came from. Jason Whithead ( a guide on Guntersville) helped the first responders. Ya say a prayer. Could’ve easily been one of us!
