Sam Houston Volleyball Official page of the Sam Houston Women's Volleyball Team. Sam Houston is located in Huntsville, centrally located in the state of Texas.

We are 1hr from downtown Houston, 2.5 hours from Dallas and Austin, and 3 hours from San Antonio. SHSU is the third oldest university in the state of Texas yet we boast over $230M in new and renovated facilities. Sam Houston is a NCAA Division I athletic program with over 80 undergraduate programs, 50 master’s programs, and 6 doctoral programs. Some of our most sought out programs include Kinesiol

ogy, Nursing, Business, and top-5 nationally ranked Criminal Justice. The volleyball program competes in the Southland Conference, and historically finishes in the top three every year. The team is coached by Brenda Gray, who has coached at SHSU for 37 years, and has earned 719 wins. Eat ‘em up Kats!!
